Drifters need a lot of TLC especially on the exterior, a flagship service suffered without a single repaint in a decade. The age is really showing on them if its true what some drivers say on here a lot of them are going into limp mode and are sttruggling with hills

And 4 months on they are still unreadable at times. All need to be white displays like all the London buses now operating on the Gateshead estates.
Noticed whilst in Gateshead the angels are constantly on service 57. Why?

I would guess there’s some reliability issues with the Angels so they’re keeping them within distance of Riverside and Saltmeadows. It’s not uncommon to have half the allocation as non branded Angel now.

Though the speed of some of the London stock on the A167, you’d need angelic intervention to keep to time

I can imagine the age of them
They look smart in corporate and nice white display destinations. What internals like?

Horrid inside.
I was on 6970 last week on the 58 and it struggled to get up past 10 mph on split crow road in felling.

Seen a few crawl up Crowell lane the other day some sound awful

The legroom is better but the seats are thinner, not high backed, condensation runs down the middle of the roof, headroom seems less especially by stairs and there’s random boxes in places on the floor and by god they are slow,

RE: Destination Display - Acky81 - 16 Jan 2024

Go north east always had the best buses as in new stock nowadays they are just going for crap from Brighton and London. If they haven’t wasted all that cash on paint we would have new vehicles. Turning into arriva

You should see the Prince Bishops, or whatever is left of the lettering on each branded bus, Drifters are nowhere near as bad in comparison.

The Sunderland houghton Durham needs to disappear off the sides of the prince bishops as it’s now for 20 and 65 services

I think some got half debranded to get repainted into red before they changed their mind on what to do with them.

And the patter we used to get from people about how the GNE fleet was so much nicer/pleasing etc than any of the others.

How times change.

RE: Destination Display - nova347 - 18 Jan 2024

The Prince Bishops is so bad because the vinyls are so thin and are not a massive covering like the Drifter or the old Coaster Livery is. Like for the PB's all the lettering vinyls are individual therefore they are easier to come off.

Ye some of the Prince Bishops got painted in corporate when the 20/24 split. But then the X20 got canned and they went on the 65 as well so obviously there wasn't enough in Prince Bishops now.

None of 663's destination screens appear to be working
