(04 Jun 2015, 3:23 pm)Jimmi wrote It's continuing, I have just had a call saying I may be owed PPI, although who hasn't had a phone call about reclaiming PPI.

Since I got a phone on contract I often seem to be getting calls about garbage, usually I have been in an accident that wasn't my fault and may be entitled to compensation.

Are you with EE? If you are and got the phone recently, just tell them to terminate your contract and pay £60. My mam has had violent phone calls and bullying from official EE numbers into having broadband etc, she just paid £60 to terminate the contract then she moved to 3.

EE must also sell information about customers to companies like PPI compensation and shit.

Nah, I'm on O2.

Don't get them that often, when I do get them I just hang up.

My response to those daft PPI calls ultimately depends what sort of mood I am in.

Have had conversations with some of them in the past for 15+ minutes, just seeing how long they can put up with random questions and statements for, until they eventually put the phone down themselves.

If I'm in a bad mood or have better things to be doing, I just put the phone straight down.

I hate speaking to everyone on the phone so naturally as soon as PPI came up I pressed end call.

I am sometimes tempted to do that though, the best one I've heard was my neighbour kept getting calls about loft insulation and he got one of them to come out for a quote and of course they were rather displeased to see that it was a flat roofed house

Should try this trick with cold callers

In 2012 a guy took a stand against cold callers and sent them an invoice for a 10er for wasting his time...

He actually ended up getting the 10er off them

Cold Caller firm pays out for wasting businessmans time

The hardest thing in life... Virtually impossible.

Trying to have a pee while on board a Class 142. Trust me, it'll be more useful if they weren't fitted with toilets.

No it really isn't and I don't think you should really be taking photos specifically of the passengers on-board buses, that said I do enjoy the Sleeping Commuters thread.

Could have had another good un tonight, but after the other week, I was worried it was someone's Mam!

I am yet to get one unfortunately but I imagine it would be difficult. Also I haven't figured out how to turn the flash off for my camera.

RE: Anything and Everything - Malarkey - 06 Jun 2015

Seems the crime rate has been on a High in the 24 Hours in Newcastle, A body found in Fawdon, A stabbing at Tea Time near Old Eldon Square, Another Knife/Machete Attack and a Drive-By Shooting on a Doorman outside Tub-Tub tonight according to my Little Sister, who has few friends who having a night out in the Toon, thankfully she isnt there and is safe at her Boyfriends house, its no wonder I have never been to town whether that be Newcastle or Sunderland, as find these sort of incidents quite off putting to say the least, would much rather go to a friends house or stay at home altogether and have a few quiet drinks.

RE: Anything and Everything - Adrian - 07 Jun 2015

I don't think even the Blue Monkey attracted as much trouble as the town seems to nowadays....

Hopefully they're completely unrelated incidents, but its not good to hear about stabbings and shootings at any time.

A thought has just come to me, have any members ever experienced something paranormal before? It's just in Science today, as we had half an hour of free time at the end of the lesson (because we'd finished the topic) our teacher started sharing ghost stories, and others started chiming in with other things.

About 10 years ago, I took part in a ghost hunt at Beamish Hall, about 3am a bin bag flapping about in the wind scared the fucking shite out of me, thought I was gonna have a heart attack Big Grin

Is that because the other 1,883 posts you made were against the rules

We only need 2 rules here

1. No writing on the walls
2. Obey all the rules

I will give a thumbs up if anybody knows what I am talking about there
