RE: Arriva North East - tyresmoke - 07 Jun 2013

Rare workings from Stockton today included MPD 1769 on X6 and MPD 1711 on 28/30, the latter becoming the first one to work a 28B journey and quite possibly the last given the plan of transfers?
Rare to see one mini Dart on Middlesbrough services never mind 2. 1711 had replaced Prestige 4052 earlier in the day.
DAF ALX300 4097 has transferred from Ashington to Redcar and saw use on service 63 today, this now means all 8 Yorkshire ALXs now finally in use at Redcar.

This concerns the whole group, but will stick it in this section: www.nebusiness.co.uk/business-news/latest-business-news/2013/06/11/transport-group-arriva-continues-its-journey-of-growth-51140-33455186/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter

RE: Arriva North East - cbma06 - 12 Jun 2013

Ive just got an email from Durham County Council Transport Section:

"Just to advise it has now been confirmed that from 28 July Arriva service 22 will be reverting to operating along Southway and Helford Road in Peterlee."

This should have been done when the 22 took over from the 24, the way the 22 goes into Oakerside now has nearly caused several crashes, the roundabout is very tight to get a bus around.

RE: Arriva North East - tyresmoke - 17 Jun 2013

Odd workings at Stockton today saw Cadet 1911 and Pulsar 1457 appear on service 21A. Scania Omnicity 4660-2 are still in service here too. DAF Prestige 4048 was on loan to Redcar today on services 64A/X3/X4.

Looks like the confirmed information I got from DCC was false

Arriva quoted:

"Thanks for your e-mail. We have not submitted a registration to change service 22 from Sunday 28th July, as we did not want to divert the buses from their current route without a full investigation of the impact on running times. This is to ensure that we do not return to the timekeeping problems that we experienced between October and March. We are currently looking at the difference in running time between the current route and the old one – depending on the outcome of this, we would now look to make the change later this year."

Arrivas quote "timekeeping problems that we experienced between October and March", what about the rest of the time when the 24A and 25 used to go round Southway and there were no problems, don't know why Arriva had problems between October and March.

Ive seen about 5 Arriva service 22's trying to manage to get round the line of cars approaching the roundabout on Passfield Way/Oakerside Drive today, there should of kept the service via Southway, even though there were having problems turning right from Southway onto Passfield Way but at least cars do stop and the bus has enough turning circle to manage the turn out of Southway.

RE: Arriva North East - tyresmoke - 19 Jun 2013

Some unusual workings from last night were Whitby ALX200 Dart 1103 making a trip on service 5 to Middlesbrough, while Prestige 4002 turned up on the X93.
Durham were using Prestige 4051 on the evening X1s.

This morning saw a demonstration in the Market Square in Darlington involving Arriva Wales ADL E400 4402 (J200ABW) which was there to demonstrate the Sapphire brand which will be introduced to service 7 later in the year. This was in conjunction with the transport minister Norman Baker being in the region, visiting various transport projects in Middlesbrough, Stockton, Shildon and Darlington on Ecocity 4803.

RE: Arriva North East - ... - 19 Jun 2013

Does anyone know is Jesmond operates any school contracts in Sunderland, just seen 1414 parked up this morning waiting to do the 450. I thought only Belmont covered the Sunderland work?

RE: Arriva North East - Andreos1 - 19 Jun 2013

Those vehicles look smart.

Are they all being kitted out to the same spec?

RE: Arriva North East - Malarkey - 20 Jun 2013

1403 / NK53 HHZ VDL Wright Commander has been repainted into looks what look could be for Quorum Express replacing either Optare Solos or the Gemnins which a few have already been repainted.

RE: Arriva North East - Wellsey18 - 20 Jun 2013

Could bee for the quorum shuttle which would replace the solo and be repainted and most likely thrown on nexus work

It's to supplement the Geminis on the X5 (and also X4 in effect, the two interwork). 2837 is staying in Quorum Shuttle livery for the 555 (I assume a normal liveried Solo works the new 554 (or what used to be the 332)).

RE: Arriva North East - tyresmoke - 23 Jun 2013

Scania 4659 arrived at Stockton today, 4660 has departed (presumably to Jesmond?) while 4661/2 remain. Loan vehicles were 1105 and 1769 this weekend.
Scania 4664 should depart Durham tonight.

RE: Arriva North East - tyresmoke - 24 Jun 2013

Scania 4659 entered service at Stockton today, being used as a spare bus and saw use on services 27, 5A and 7. MPD 1755 managed to end up on service 21A following its use on service 5 covering for a breakdown (swapped with Prestige 4038 onto service 5).

RE: Arriva North East - Malarkey - 26 Jun 2013

A few odd workings from Arriva Newcastle today, mainly involving Hybrids, actually all of them were Hybrids.

RE: Arriva North East - Wellsey18 - 27 Jun 2013

There's an Omnicity on the 55 this morning think it was 4663 I'm not sure didn't quite catch the fleet number, looked to be the leather seats. Have they been transferred to jesmond because i hadn't heard that they had?????

Just looking at pictures i think it was 4662 because it was an 07 reg one

RE: Arriva North East - tyresmoke - 27 Jun 2013

More than likely 4660 which transferred up on Sunday. 4661/2 are still at Stockton for the time being

RE: Arriva North East - tyresmoke - 27 Jun 2013

Scania 4652 arrived at Stockton depot last night from Redcar.

RE: Arriva North East - NK05 GWZ - 27 Jun 2013

Seen 2 interesting vehicles working the 43 today (Durham). First was refurbished X434 FGP making a debut and then this evening I saw S649 KJU working the evening service! Any ideas why we have got a Palatine back!

EDIT: Just realised S649 KJU is a Classic vehicle saw it must have been on the Bingo contract

RE: Arriva North East - Michael - 30 Jun 2013

im trying to look for information y Arriva North east pulled so many services out of Sunderland so many year's ago?

We had the likes of
213 Darlington - Sunderland;
215 Bishop Auckland - Sunderland;
216 Thornley - Sunderland;
217 Bishop Auckland - Sunderland;
230 Hartlepool - Sunderland

There's a list of changes Under Peterlee changes in 2008 on the bygone era but it just says renumbered for most services but no reason y some were some were withdrawn.. was this due to GNE dominating?
With it being a Sunderland company i would of liked it to be the main operator in the city.
