Nexus Timetable Quirks - gtom - 05 Feb 2015 Noticed a few things today that make me question the sanity of Nexus Birtley Station Lane stop 21 to Newcastle - Journey time 28 minutes X2 to Newcastle - Journey time 32 minutes!!! yet a few stops later at Windsor Road the X2 has suddenly made up time and is now 26 minutes journey vs GNE who are still 28 So we race along to Low Fell The Cannon where the 21 now takes.... 16 minutes! But the X2 (which bear in mind doesn't stop again until Gateshead after Low Fell Cannon) now takes 18 minutes.... You should really catch the 29....that only takes 13 minutes to Gateshead (quicker than the others!) Can anyone explain the logic that is Nexus? RE: Nexus Timetable Quirks - Adrian - 05 Feb 2015 Do they get a list of timings for all stops from the operators? Or do they just stick a guesstimate in, based on the public timetable points? RE: Nexus Timetable Quirks - MurdnunoC - 05 Feb 2015 I raised a similar query in the 'Bus Stop Numbers' thread some months back. According to this post, it has something to do with the timings being based upon the first bus of the day. That might explain the disparity between services 21 and X2 - despite one being an express service. Just remember - it mightn't be Nexus' fault and it'd be ludicrous to suggest otherwise! Everything is Nexus' fault! RE: Nexus Timetable Quirks - roar - 20 Apr 2015 (19 Apr 2015, 9:49 pm)Adam wrote Note to Mods: Feel free to move elsewhere if it's deemed more appropriate there. Nexus have used the approximate journey times for the first service to run through from Newcastle, quite a few nexus timetables use the first or the longest journey in this way. The extra 10 minutes is between Barley Mow (0821) and Chester-le-street (0838). Better than having to wait for two months or whatever for the timetables to be posted - providing there's been no changes! |
