The blue bumper looks a lot cleaner, but seems to deviate away from the standard set by UK Bus? There's another bus in Cumbria with 'panda eyes'. Placement of the Stagecoach logo on the O/S, and indeed the fleet number font/colour on the front, also seems to differ between the two repainted Enviro400s in the Newcastle fleet. Even the wheelchair logos on the front destination are different.

Whilst these details won't be noticed by an ordinary customer, and the point about the vinyl placement is being extremely nitpicky, I'm very surprised UK Bus haven't set specific guidelines on this kind of thing, given it's a major re-brand and a big step-change in their corporate identity (whether we like it or not!) I do recall seeing something of a guideline sheet when the new identity was first revealed, so perhaps (even more surprisingly) local regions aren't sticking to the set guidelines?

It's 15698 (PX60 BFA) - https://www.flickr.com/photos/stagecoachuk/49587823232/

L
ooks awful to be a brutally honest, ours look a lot better with the Blue front bumper then the Yellow over the lights/grill.

The bit of Blue on 15698 sticks out like a sore thumb between the door and the wheelchair ramp, furthermore with the blue on the front of the bus I would've brought that back further than what it is currently aligned as there is far to much white going from the mid point of the vehicle towards the front of it for my liking, I would've personally brought the blue back as far as the first lower deck window with curve of the blue starting just after the wheel arch but before where the legal lettering is and curving up towards the second upper deck window to which I think would look a hell of a lot better.

I have no comments on the rear of the vehicle as I think that looks fine.

Understand from comments on other forums that 19440/645 have been painted to the correct specifications for the classic Enviro bodywork. The Cumbrian example has been painted to the MMC specification.

What ever happened to Days when buses were painted to a design and not just following the lines of various body panels

Can see the offside logo positioning differs (hopefully 19645 is correct as it looks a bit less squished) but struggling to see any particular difference in fleet number font/colour?  The wheelchair logos differ between many of the batches, and arguably are largely obsolete now as all buses are wheelchair accessible - so its a bit like saying seats and poles on board.

Possibly just the photos that were on Facebook, but it appeared that 19440's fleet number was in a blue font.

It would make more sense to put a company logo above the driver's cab window in the white space, with the fleet number being closer to the wheel arch...

What many enthusiasts have seen, is all that the paint shops have seen.

There's currently only "official spec" for the Enviro400MMC and Enviro300. The E400 repaints that North East have done are taken from the branding magazine interpretation, and was never supposed to be used... and with that, was why Carlisle painted 15698 the way it is - with a bit of additional experimentation, plus was done prior to the official specs landing - so may be the last bad panda, depending on the MD.

A kick up the proverbial and some ironing out of repaint execution is ongoing at Group level, so hopefully developments provide more guidance. When Best Impressions commissioned 'swoops' there were specs produced for every bus in the UK Bus fleet done for the brand rollout, so quite frustrating that hasn't happened yet.

There's been plenty plowed into The Case for Change programme, material and staff roadshows commercially and at Group level, but on the face of it has only produced a couple of speculative paint specs for further down the chain at division level. It's all still in its early days of the rollout I suppose, touchwood it's ironed out....

Will South Shields be gaining any vehicles back from Sunderland when the x20 & 30 transfer back?

I'd imagine 2 or 3 MAN E200s, however many to cover those routes. (2 I'm guessing?)

RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - February 2020 - Youngymmv - 03 Mar 2020

X20 was usually allocated a longer vehicle such as an e300. Could possibly send ex Hartlepool examples as there bigger

Isn't the 17/18s reducing to a 12 min frequency from the same date? If thats the case that might free up 2 buses at Shields to operate the X20/30. Allowing 2 of the E200s at Sunderland to replace 34605/35189 in the reserve fleet.

RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - February 2020 - Youngymmv - 04 Mar 2020

Anyone else noticed that the 2 e400s in new corporate livery have returned with the wheel trims on. Something SNE don’t usually have in there vehicles

RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - February 2020 - Malarkey - 04 Mar 2020

Did a quick little paint job, actually think it looks better with a bit more blue.

It looks much better in person than the concept images. The fact that each colour is a composite picture didn't come across all that well on a small screen but it has a much bigger visual impact when it's only 30' away from you, irl.

Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - February 2020 - streetdeckfan - 05 Mar 2020

Saw one of the E400s with the new livery, and to be honest it doesn't look that bad in person (probably due to the fact that they didn't paint the bumper correctly)
But what on earth did they do to the back? It just looks like an arse crack to me! Looks bloody awful

Any orange bumper, in fact orange on the front in general, is now obsolete after updated paint specifications were released today.

RBZ 5459. Do you know which two buses Sunderland could send to Shields depot if the x20 & 30 are coming back soon. Robin

Shame that. Quite liked the way Newcastle had interpreted the specs. So no orange anywhere on the front now?

Would expect just one MAN E200, as the 17/18 timetable changes also save one bus at Shields.

No orange should be used nope.

Wonder if 36091-94 are going instead of some of the 63 plates? Doesn't appear that anything has transferred to Sunderland as a result.

RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - March 2020 - Dans_bus_photos - 06 Mar 2020

Does anyone know if 39724 is likely to being repaired? I noticed it dumped at the back of Slatyford today missing several panels and windows. I know its been off the road for a while, but has also now been SORN, so assuming its not likely to see service again
