Next stop announcements - streetdeckfan - 10 Aug 2023

Looks like Arriva have also updated their NSA displays to include the current time, very handy!

Not sure why they have the 1 branded a Sapphire though!

They seemingly have kept the Sapphire name on the NSAs for services which fitted into the Sapphire brand even though the branding isn't as prevalent at Darlington [or Arriva in general] now with it only being carried on the Lites bought for the 1/5/5A and the old Sapphire livery on the 09 plate E400s.

The 1 was a sapphire route as the 67 plate streetlites were bought in sapphire spec

Arriva still have Darlington Houndgate on their NSAs on the X75 (Darlington bound), a road/stop that hasn't been served for almost 4 years now. I noticed it on one of the E200MMCs.

This format was designed by me back in 2019, where I was only asked to create Sapphire branded screens.

Most, if not all, Ashington routes now have NSAs. Huge positive, especially for the rural ones, though they appear to have taken stop names from Google and as such some stops are announced as, for example, "Main Road" which I'm not sure is particularly helpful to anyone.

If you don't know where you're going and using Google to know where to get off, it can be very useful. I've had this a few times in places like Latvia, but it made my journey so much easier with the NSA matching the Google instructions.

This is how it used to be prior to the switch to the NaPTAN names of stops in 2017.

It's a hard balance to get right with locals, NaPTAN and Google Maps all having different names for stops!

Which names of stops does Bus Times use?
