Weather - DanPicken - 17 Nov 2013 There is planned snow Wed night and all Thurs. RE: weather - Dan - 17 Nov 2013 Knowing my school, they'll still have us in for our bloody mock GCSEs. The heating doesn't work either... Perfect place for penguins, hell for humans. Roads blocked up by incompetent drivers. It seems Weardale, Teesdale and the Pennines have had some already. Same as buses, some of them are like my old school classrooms, heating worked in the summer, air con in the winter...Was on an East Durham MPD in 2010 and it was colder on the bus than it was outside RE: weather - Dan - 19 Nov 2013 Anybody else see a tiny bit of snow?! RE: weather - GuyParkRoyal - 19 Nov 2013 (19 Nov 2013, 11:14 am)Dan wrote Anybody else see a tiny bit of snow?! A few flakes fell in Chester le Street around the time of your post 11.10 to 11.15 then the sun came out and cleared the heavy frost that occurred last night. I'm pleased the snow did stop as it gave me the opportunity to wait for some photos of 4901 on the back of the recovery truck. RE: weather - Andreos1 - 19 Nov 2013 (19 Nov 2013, 11:14 am)Dan wrote Anybody else see a tiny bit of snow?! According to fb - everyone and his dog. Haven't seen a flake at all myself! RE: weather - Michael - 20 Nov 2013 did anyone else hear thunder their? RE: weather - Dan - 20 Nov 2013 (20 Nov 2013, 5:05 pm)Michael wrote did anyone else hear thunder their? I'm in Durham and the phrase 'drowned rat' springs to mind. Absolutely chucking it down. RE: weather - Michael - 20 Nov 2013 It's confused as out, it doesn't know what to do RE: weather - cbma06 - 20 Nov 2013 Down here in Peterlee, theres lighting, thunder, sleet RE: weather - MrFozz - 20 Nov 2013 (20 Nov 2013, 5:22 pm)cbma06 wrote Down here in Peterlee, theres lighting, thunder, sleet Sounded like bastard Hiroshima in my backstreet, scared the shite out of me The Film Ted comes to mind When you hear the sound of thunder, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9PnNW56bp0 RE: weather - Andreos1 - 06 Apr 2014 (06 Apr 2014, 11:37 am)AIG20 wrote To minimise the chances of being drenched when heading out and about, "Netweather.TV" is a great website to use. This is simply because there is a live rainfall and lightning radar that updates every 10 - 15 minutes, so you will be able to know whether it will actually rain or not. It also includes detailed weather forecasts as well. I have the accuweather app. Seems fairly decent and goes off the location settings from your phone. RE: Anything and Everything - Michael - 05 Dec 2015 We don't have a weather thread so i'll hoy it here: (Continuing from yesterdays wind) Corbridge homes evacuated and 70mph winds hit the region. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/news/north-east-news/north-east-weather-live-corbridge-10553359 RE: Anything and Everything - BusLoverMum - 05 Dec 2015 (05 Dec 2015, 12:01 pm)Michael wrote We don't have a weather thread so i'll hoy it here: (Continuing from yesterdays wind) And we're now under an amber wind warning until the morning. Red warning for rain in the nw. And the wear in Durham was close to its banks at 9:30. Won't be surprised if that floodsas the water comes down. RE: Anything and Everything - Jimmi - 05 Dec 2015 (04 Dec 2015, 11:48 pm)BusLoverMum wrote They put out the warning for high sided vehicles not to cross about 5pm because gusts were already hitting 80mph and told people not to cross it at all for non-essential journeys. There's always numpties who ignore these warnings, though. (Even when the snow gates are down) Despite signs saying that the A66 was closed to high sided vehicles, there was still some lorry's heading down the A66, on the opposite carriageway there was one off the road and had jack knifed on my way home from Blackpool this morning. Many of the fields in the Tebay and Kirkby Stephen area are flooded. RE: Anything and Everything - Michael - 05 Dec 2015 Appleby is also flooded, Sky News reported on it.... Looks like this wind might be here for a while. RE: Anything and Everything - citaro5284 - 05 Dec 2015 eeeee Michael.....NEB's very own weather forecaster RE: Anything and Everything - Michael - 05 Dec 2015 (05 Dec 2015, 2:21 pm)citaro5284 wrote eeeee Michael.....NEB's very own weather forecaster Thanks Citaro, RE: Anything and Everything - BusLoverMum - 05 Dec 2015 (05 Dec 2015, 1:08 pm)Jimmi wrote Despite signs saying that the A66 was closed to high sided vehicles, there was still some lorry's heading down the A66, on the opposite carriageway there was one off the road and had jack knifed on my way home from Blackpool this morning. Many of the fields in the Tebay and Kirkby Stephen area are flooded. Well it's completely closed now Flood warnings for hurworth and croft. Pics circulating of water almost up to the top of the arches of the bridge at croft, interspersed with the floating sofa in Appleby. And prebeNds bridge in Durham is now closed due to flooding. On a Gemini x12. Sitting downstairs. You couldn't pay me to sit upstairs today. The blinds in the cafe of the boro house of Fraser were flapping wildly as it still has the old metal windowfrsmes. Big'un has the captain's seat behind the door. Little'un is at home, probably driving his dad up the wall. The wind has sent him wild. RE: Anything and Everything - omnicity4659 - 05 Dec 2015 When I went to Morpeth a couple of days ago the river was quite high, I'd hate to see it now. The defences have probably stopped another devastating flood in the town.
