Photographed this vehicle at Coach Lane Campus this afternoon, it had just finished a journey on the 1. I presume it is on hire to Stagecoach as it has a fleet name and fleet number 80044. It was latterly with Golden Tours of London In a Harry Potter al over wrap.

Anyone known the running boards for the dupes that these are on?

With hiring these extra deckers in, whats happened to 12078 and 19379, which according to bus times have been off the road a long time. Are they unserviceable?

No idea about running boards but 3 seem to be working each weekday on duplicate service 1 between Coach Lane Campus and City Centre only (not through to Slatyford).

They appear to work during morning and afternoon peak hours only. Full registration details are -

I also noticed a Jewitts of Chollerford Levante coach on a dup service 40 in Byker on Friday afternoon last week. Registration was AYZ 3679, and was formerly Ambassador Travel 212, BF63 ZSN.

I saw the Jewitts coach in Blackett Street last week, it changes to a 36 to Fenham after working the 40 into toon.

Fleetnumbers originally allocated to Cumbria & N. Lancs. Merc Sprinters early this year (80044-50) but not used allowing re-use of the numbers

If people haven’t already spotted, the quartet are now tracking on Bus Times as of this morning - this should now help with working out what runs they do.

Wardley Coaches have a contract which picks up hi-vis wearing workers at several places in Wallsend and Byker at night. Used to be a minibus but they now use a coach for social-distancing. I often see it on Shields Road just down from junction with Chillingham Road around 6pm. Could that be what you saw.

Thanks for the update, here's me thinking Stagecoach had upgraded the B9's  , which appear to be parked up at the back of walkergate atm, with uni/colleges being sent home for xmas wont see these again till new year. Looking into the depot yard seems 2 of the kinetics are still waiting for the final departure, presumably to Alpha's

B9s were still out on service 1 today. Their use seems to tie in with schools being open, not just uni/poly/colleges. Schools break up on Friday 18th Dec so still got another couple of weeks to go.

School duplicates, usually 6 or 7 from Dovers there. They operate on various routes across the patch, including 52, 59 etc.

The 4 Volvo B9s all returned to service today in Newcastle on service 1 duplicates (80044-47).

Stanley Travel seemed to be duplicating Stagecoach 30/36 runs this afternoon, a couple of coaches were on Netherby drive 'on hire to Stagecoach'.
