Go North East: Service Suggestions

RE: Go North East: Service Suggestions
(29 Jan 2016, 11:45 pm)Jimmi wrote Parts of the 58 is still needed, although you could possibly change the 58 to run to Peterlee after Wheatley Hill which would save one bus on that service, although if this was to be done it would probably cost more for Durham County Council to subsidise two different services and Wingate and Station Town would lose their service to Durham.

As would quarrington hill

More to the point, what would happen to the 1 between North Shields and Gateshead?

Then gateshead to wrekenton a 24 with red scanias

So you'd introduce a new service between North Shields and Gateshead to replace the 1?

BTW, completely off topic, you don't own any castles or ferrets by any chance?

A prediction or a suggestion?

What you've proposed is more of a suggestion.

Bonkers.

He wants a new service to be numbered 1 which goes nowhere near Newcastle/Gateshead from North Shields... but also extending the '1' to Blyth. Confusion with the Arriva 1? Both blue buses...

I see the demand for Blyth-Jarrow like.

Why they are the exact same routes as now?

And times, as they both currently run every 30 minutes?

Not a bad idea, but would it not lead to confusion with the Stagecoach Sunderland 5 and 5a, between the City Centre and Doxford

How about a 19A
Does the normal 19 route to Boghouses then either turns right go straight over roundabout onto A192 then left on lavrick hall road down into blyth either via south beach or newsham.
Or it can follow 19 route along horton road. Then turn right go along bedside road in to blyth that way

Good suggestion ominicity or Citaro am not fussed as long as it's something decent at the end of the day a bus is a bus

Imagine if there was a X8 service to Metrocentre to Middlesbrough could easy run out of Riverside with new vehicles or some existing ones I remember a few years back they trailed a X9 service by coach that December it was kept on permently although original a trial to see how popular it was X9 started out using coaches that used to be used on National Express then once Vykings had arrived for 21/22 it was then decided to put Geminis on to X9/X10 along with existing ones which were on there

Create completion on route 48.
Journeys to both new brancepath and Beamish will serve railway station

What frequency would this suggestion run and would this be a normal day to day service or seasonal service? I can't see them being able to compete with Arriva's service 48 running every 20 minutes to New Brancepeth.

Don't see the point in running to New Brancepeth on a hourly seasonal service as there isn't exactly anything at New Brancepeth for people to visit and anyone living in New Brancepeth would probably just use the all year round and more frequent Arriva 48.
