Had a 2min ride on 5425 this morning. Instead of being a bag of spanners going from Fencehouses to Rainton, the ride was very smooth. Smooth enough to do my eyeliner.....if i wore any that is
Branding also superb. Much nicer than previous brand

Can't help but think that is would be slightly more attractive with a decent reliable bus with features on and a quicker journey time that the service may work better. Perhaps an X36 that is quicker and 36 that takes the current route? I know the 36 exists but was merely an example.
It would win my custom even though the metro is cheaper.

One thing I noticed about the next stop announcements is the audio announcement stating the route and destination, was something like "This is the Prince Bishops 20A to South Shields" although it plays this announcement a few times over the course of a journey. One issue I have with them is the lack of stopping bells on these (plus the other examples already in the fleet), in certain spots you have to walk down the bus just to press a bell. Think I was the first passenger to board 5424 this afternoon after we were swapped onto it from 4972 in Park Lane, can only assume this was it's first journey as there was a mad rush to get some photos of this one!
