It hasn't. Just seems to fit nicely with the recent emergence of a photo which stated that the Waggonway Solars would be withdrawn in the not too distant future.

They're the only buses which will be available for the 28/28A for the time-being, doubt they would send Citaro's to Chester, as they don't have any.

I'm inclined to agree  Wink

Just done some quick calculations on excel and discovered that the total PVR would be 18 (10 for 26, 8 for 27) which works out nicely for all of 5305-5309 to join the Crusader brand. It doesn't look like there will be any interworking between the two during the day either.

So if the 5 gets extended to North Shields will they still use the Omnia cities buses

I would think so, they'll gain some of the Omnicities from the Coaster.

I think Go North East are moving on from mixed allocations.

Which will also have WiFi. I wonder if there is a business case to fit the current Omnicitys on there.

Maybe 5253 and 5254 will move instead? Then again it's said the 5 will be operated by Percy Main so god knows

citaro5284 mentioned earlier, that the 5 will continue to be operated by Washington.

Ah right, so I would have thought this:

5253/54 - Washington for 5/50 (extension to 5 should only need 1 bus, and 1 spare) - No WiFi so will make the allocation the same
5251/52/61/62 - 19
5263-71 - 11

That leaves 5272, 5273 and 5274 spare.

On the other hand they could go to Stanley for the Toon Link so replace Omindekkas but I'm sure some boards will require a high capacity than Omnicities?

I think 5251/52 to Stanley as spares, 5253/54 to Washington 5/50 this will allow continuation of fleet numbers at both depots.

Then 5261 to 5274 for the 11/19

Maybe 1 to Stanley as spare - as having 5251/52 would only leave 5274 as a spare for the 11 and 19, meaning they would have to retain a couple of Eclipses/Solars.

Deptford using single deckers on metro replacement to Hylton. No standing space whilst a Vyking sits empty at Gateshead. Probably still an upgrade from the current metro trains though [emoji1]

They were 5285 (Wear Xpress Merc) and 5211 which I was driving.  Deptford also provided 3971 on the Metro Replacements from Park Lane to Newcastle.
