I still think the problem that GNE have in Peterlee is that of weekly tickets. They have no evening/Sunday services operating between Sunderland-Peterlee-Hartlepool whereas Arriva have some sort of network and therefore is more appealing to passengers.
At midday today there was a X6 spotted on the A19 sliproad southbound at Peterlee roundabout at traffic lights with at least 15 passengers onboard. Time is needed to bed in the new services so passengers can get to know, it took awhile for passengers to get to know about when service X7 originally started up the first time.
