Well that's the 20:00 departure anyway, pre-book tickets but public timetable - "Plenty of music and your very own host with complimentary shots to get the party started"..... Turning up for the advertised service as a member of the public onto a bus full of partygoers - not something I would of thought Nexus would promote as a service on their site......... pretty sure it's illegal drinking on public buses, imagine the complaints back to Nexus.

There's a rabbit off there somewhere.....

Pretty sure anything regarding food and drink on a bus is just down to a bylaw or company policy. In England anyway.
There's the sporting event alcohol ban, but don't think there's anything illegal about drinking on a service bus.

There's certainly ethics to consider if they're giving away free drink.

Unsurprisingly, it has been removed from the Nexus bus timetable site. Although the original link I posted is still active.

Coach was on 808 today, with the usual Bluebird seen at 19:00 going down the A189.

RE: Phoenix Coaches
As mentioned in the PCL Travel thread, Phoenix are taking over operation of service 15 from August 26th but on a more limited basis.

From the same date the 808 will be revised to start/terminate at Haymarket Bus Station instead of St Thomas Street.

Wonder if the North East Explorer tickets will still be valid?

So the same vehicle will operate the 808 and 15? How come the 15 has been extended to Newcastle? What ticket will be needed on the 15?

Monday to Friday it will be the same bus, although on Saturdays an additional bus will be used.

Yeah, I thought so, as the 808 and 15 times don't fit together on Saturdays. I wasn't expecting the 15 to be extended to Newcastle. I'd like to give it a try sometime.

Phoenix have 3x Fiat Bluebirds, aswell as some ALX400s...

I think all the Optare Solos and MPDs were sold, therefore could only picture the above being allocated.

RE: Phoenix Coaches
Hi all,

Monday - Friday 808 service will end at St Thomas Street. This vehicle will then run the 15 from the Haymarket to Thropton.

We decided to extend first and last part of the service to Newcastle as the bus will be travelling up there anyway - healthy competition for Arriva.

On a Saturday, there will be 1 vehicle operating the 808 and a separate vehicle operating the 15.

Hi, thanks for the info.

Is the 16 not operating at all anymore?

Someone in a Facebook group said service 16 was going to be ran by UCCT Upper Coquet Community transport with a 16 seater minibus but they were awaiting a PSV licence, so no idea if service 16 will still exist in any form or not.

Thanks for the information. Phoenix decided? I thought Northumberland County Council decided the route and timetable? Healthy competition for Arriva? Competing how? I agree it provides one alternative to Arriva, I noticed recently only Arriva operates from Newcastle to Alnwick, but they will be more frequent and probably cheaper? I'd use Phoenix to go to Alnwick instead of Arriva, but I'm not sure many people will. I like alternative services.

Unfortunately the North East Explorer will not be valid on the 15 apparently.
