Many, many years ago, Jaguar ran 2.4 litre and 3.4 litre cars in convoy and the 3.4 litre one returned better fuel economy, so it can be that a larger engine with higher gearing can use less fuel that a smaller engine one with lower gearing.

Nothing lasts forever in my opinion for vehicles when I was a kid I used to like the Northumbria Motor Services Livery on the Cityzen while I used to love the Leyland Lynks Stagecoach had I remember hearing them roar through South Shields and one vehicle I miss was Leyland Olympian one of my first rides on Asda free bus with my dad when I was very little in the old Wear Buses livery service and sub branding no longer exists the company GNE does though

Any Vehicles on Loan to Washington Depot today, as from looking my post yesterday and danpicks post earlier in the odd workings thread, it would seem a few ST Versas are likely VOR.

With it being the first example to be done, I suspect this one will be away for quite some time for testing etc (hence why 3858 is being reinstated when required).

It was returned this morning and is presently at Riverside.

I have very fond memories of the Volvo Palatine II's particularly when Percy Main had them on the 308 circa 2000. My favourite seat was the single one that was ripped out of 3832 and 3833.

Right and? Surely if you have the article and you're able to use the forum then can't you just copy and paste the link? Just doing a quick Google and nothing even remotely similar to what you said comes up

Could it be, that he's looking at the Nexus QCS appendix on proposed routes / Contract tender, which lists all in numerical order, whether it be StageCoach, Arriva or GNE. If read incorrectly he could read Arriva to Morpeth as GNE as they follow each other on that list (x14/ x15):

Appendix L:
http://www.nexus.org.uk/sites/default/fi...uded_0.pdf

Appendix list(Whole);

http://www.nexus.org.uk/busstrategy/cons...appendices

Or maybe not!

Moderation note: I've removed 4x posts from this thread, in response to the posting of misleading information. A couple of points on the back of this for people to take on board please.
  • Untrue/misleading information: The forum rules are crystal clear about the posting of untrue/misleading information. If you are speculating on something or you have some unconfirmed information, simply make it clear in your post that this is the case. This will prevent most members getting irritated.
  • 'Back seat' moderation: This is not required nor welcome on the forum. If there was a requirement for more moderators, then I'm sure Dan and Liam would address the problem. If feel that the content of a post is in breach of the forum rules, then use the 'report' button. That way we get a notification, and it doesn't add fuel to the fire in the thread.
  • Respecting others: This is especially important when it comes to needing to challenge another user about their information. We should all be capable of doing this without coming across offensively.

The down side to all this is that the leaflets no longer contain a proper map for the Quaylink routes, so visitors won't have a clue where they actually go. A shame they couldn't have retained the previous map, just drawing on arrows saying they continue around Gateshead/to Great Park

According to a friend of mine, the remains of ''Lime'' Volvo B10BLE/Wright Renown 4851 (R851 PRG) were taken away from the back of Chester-le-Street depot by Alpha Recovery today. Amazing to think that it was still there since it's withdrawal, around August or September 2014 if I remember correctly?

Looks to me like the seats have been freshly re-trimmed in the old seat moquette...

The actual seats have been retained - hence the blue interior colourscheme.

I think that was asked for specifically, as 4855 is due to be repainted into the old ''Easy Access'' Red, Blue and Yellow livery; with the graffiti style seating to complete the interior. Smile

What an excellent photo! I wonder who took it? Wink

The 'graffiti' seats looked brand new when I seen it. I was actually quite annoyed that they had parked it there as I trudged all the way up to the back of Saltmeadows for a photo of the Plaxton Concept but I couldn't get one.

Dont know how easy that moquette would be to find thesedays.

Hmm... Looks familiar... Perhaps they could grab them out of 3813's benches and put the fabric on that type of seating. Wink

Yes.. Another qusstion.... I think its probably already been discussed somewhere..
Do drivers have a set number of routes they drive or do they drive any route which their depot operates?
I can imagine large depots like Riverside,  drivers may only drive a set number of routes, however small depots like Hexham drivers may drive all routes the depot operates.

They will only do routes they know though Bazza. For example, if they knew the 47 route off by heard but didn't know the 31 they would do the 47.
