Normal-ish on a Sunday. 27/27a interworks with the X12 as well as the 17 and 29a on a Sunday so you do occasionally find the X12 Pulsars on other work on Sundays

Yep:
It turns to a 35 when it reaches Newbiggin, does a trip to Morpeth and back, then returns as an X21 towards Newcastle.
