2852/4/5 all appeared on 57/A today, and 2853 (tracking as 2845) has been putting in full shifts on the 553 since it arrived at Jesmond a few weeks ago.

I don't think it has, think it's just off road and was just dodgy tracking. They've been pretty poor at Ashington every since they've turned up. 2853 seems the best of the bad bunch but then it's not really a surprise putting 13 year old buses who have spent their lives pottering around estates suddenly on probably the hardest minibus route under Arriva with a mix of fast and slow and over an hour from end to end. You'd usually do the opposite.
RobinHood   24 Dec 2022, 8:13 am
Durham use Solos on midi routes that are much more challenging than the 57 (ironically the same number though!) and they seem to cope fine.

Given they knackered the last Solos they had, now these ones, tends to suggest that it's not the bus that is the issue, it's more likely the quality of the engineering.

I'm not sure mind, the Durham ones are just as bad. Just looking at them today, 2860 and 2864 assuming are VOR, 2865 appears to have broken down near the A19 plus 2859 and 2869 have been pulled off already (obviously could be other reasons).

All the Solo's need to go imo, they're absolutely shot to bits, yet the ones doing the harder work are still in service while ones pottering around the estates of Darlington have been replaced - not saying Darlington shouldn't have investment aswell.

Mind I'd say the Ashington 57 isn't any easier than Durham's - they're very similar though it's why I put probably Tongue

Might have missed this (or forgotten), but do Redcar have a Centro?
Sure I saw one earlier on the 63.

7402 is tracking on there now according to BusTimes, so guessing this is the anomaly and could be the Centro.

7402 tracking on the 63 last night was actually Stockton’s 1446 covering what would otherwise have been lost mileage due to no driver. Vehicles doing ad-hoc loans in this manner between Stockton and Redcar tend to track as anything from the other depot.

2 Pulsars are due to transfer from Walkergate to Stockton within the next few weeks:
1 is ready for collection now (delay is due to little or no upper management working between Christmas and New Year) - effectively this will replace 1494 following its untimely demise in the RTC before Christmas
The second will transfer once operation of the 685 passes to Stagecoach - this will effectively fulfil the intended November cascade plan of 5 additional Pulsars following the reinstatement of the normal PVR on the 15 and the Kirklevington extension on the 7/7A prior to Redcar's vehicle shortage issues, which resulted in Stockton only gaining 4 Pulsars from Ashington instead of the 4 from Redcar plus 1432 from Ashington (incidentally Stockton have technically only been running 3 of those Pulsars, 1409 has yet to enter service)
Also due back in use shortly is 4719 - it underwent MOT prior to Christmas, however its return to service has been put back due to no tax (can't tax it until Tuesday as the DVLA shutdown between Christmas and New Year) and it now awaits delivery of yet more new panels following 4720's little adventure on the evening of the 23rd

Celtic seems to have signed a few players and Chelsea are on the verge of signing former Newcastle target, Benoit Badiashile, but those are the most recent transfers I can find today.

Guessing this will be 1512/1513. Can't see 1479/1499/1537 moving. As they will need at least them 3 for the fleet. 1499 being the 47 bus & 1479/1537 being spare long buses would stop the odd random solo appearing on the 51/52/53/54/55

Has 7507 moved back to Walkergate? It's out on the 44/45 tonight which is normally run by Walkergate Streetlites.

Yeah, they have 7507, 7509 and 7522 which were all initially transferred to Blyth but have since moved back.
Shrek   06 Jan 2023, 6:28 pm
Thanks for the info. It's a massive improvement on the Streetlites, hope they keep them out on the evenings.

Any updates on which pulsars are transferring to Stockton from Walkergate.

In a change of plan, only one Pulsar will be transferring from Walkergate to Stockton upon the end of the 685 operation next weekend. Stockton's 2nd transfer will come from Durham as part of a different cascade plan that a number of people on here will probably be up in arms about - let's just say however decides the cascade plans have come to the conclusion that Durham has too many single deckers and needs more deckers while a certain Northumbria depot hasn't got enough single deckers but has too many deckers........so 3 deckers are moving to Durham (replacing a Pulsar to Stockton and allowing 2 B7s to be withdrawn, so anyone looking for 7484 might want to get their skates on.....) from said depot, with more than likely the other 2 Pulsars freed from Walkergate by the ending of the 685 moving to that depot.

Well 7515/6/7 have not been converted to Euro6 so I’d suggest these three will be heading off to Durham, reportedly seeing off 7417, 7484 and releasing 1431 which will move to Stockton.

That's the rough plan I'd heard. Certainly seems more to do with CAZ compliance than anything else. 3x Ashington E400s will apparently displace 7515-7 to ensure CAZ compliance on the Walkergate scholars/X30 board, with 3 Pulsars (CAZ compliant) from the 685 moving the other way.

Ashington definitely needs more singles. I'm not sure what the 14 plates are actually meant to be doing assuming the 64 plates are on the 35. They've got an awful number of spares yet no Pulsars.

Mind it would make more sense to send them to Blyth and send the 57 plates to Walkergate with 7522 going in the opposite direction aswell and get some of them off frontline work as they're finished especially now they're wandering onto Express work. Seems bonkers having 14/64 plates doing school work.

7524 and 7525 due to move too, believe they may have gone today. 1479/1495 should move the other way.

Edit: 7524 has indeed moved, is on a 51 midnight tonight tracking as SP NE.

1431 should really go to redcar to replace 1438 or one of the others as there more Short than Stockton or transfer 1429.1432 back

Stockton are short as well - they’ve lost 1494 as well as already being short a spare on what they should have had following the changes in October (and are running on the tightest percentage of spares of any depot in the region).

Seen 1495 has moved to Blyth which in turn has moved 1461 to Ashington.

Someone actually used their brain for once rather than having a random MAX bus at Ashington and a random 61 plate standard bus at Blyth.

Now if someone uses their sense they'd swap the 14 plates and 57 plates around. Absolutely bonkers having 57 plates running in frontline service which are wrecked off the X93 and some of the newest buses in the fleet on school runs.

Think it's actually linked to the CAZ. 1461 is not Euro 6, so literally couldn't be allocated to anything at Blyth as of today.

Released from Redcar following the end of the refurb program there… presumably allows Darlo to bin off one of their ‘refurb float’ Solos.
