Only heavyweight double deck left on the market now is the Scania N230UD / E400MMC. I don't think GNE would go with this option though unless desperate after the parts trouble with the Omnicities at Stanley a few years back.

Please reconsider your decision to for leather seats on the 45/46 buses! As well as being sticky when hot etc., so not a good choice for comfort, it's really offputting to vegetarians & vegans like myself, who may also be Hindu, Buddhist etc. or just really care about animals and not want to sit on leather seats. If you choose to use a non-animal fabric, it will make your bus route much more inclusive to everyone. Thanks!

Lmao, just want to comment saying, SHUT THE FUCK UP & FUCK ALL RELIGION'S

E-leather is just reformed leather offcuts so no animals were killed for sole purpose of making these seats. Would be interesting to know if the person who posted that has a wool jumper Tongue

I've just been on the X66 for the first time and my honest opinion is they're ok. I find the leather seats quite uncomfortable and you are slipping off them when they go round tight bends. Also the bus was packed

As you've said 1 billion times already Tongue GNE could do exactly the same as what they have done with the Lime and Citylink - buy lightweight vehicles and then replace them again in a few years. Something to do with fuel economy i think?

If you were going to design a bus, how would you do it?
Inspiration from existing stuff or something completely new?

Isn't this what has recently been done with the Boris Bus and the Wright StreetDeck?

Is it possible that the 4 B9's for the Red Kite could be branded up and introduced to the 45/46 service to allow more Omnicities to be released for repaint ahead of the introduction of the Streetlites?

What would be the point in that...they have 4904, 5337 and 5338 plus several other deckers to cover (olympians included although they shouldnt be the first port of call!)

But it isn't a Davey Bowyer design Wink.

Davey is very passionate about certain deckers and I wondered if he had ever thought about designing his own.

Yes. Volvo Olympian 3813 was transferred to Stanley yesterday as a replacement for Dennis Trident 3803 which has been withdrawn.
Tom   25 Apr 2015, 8:50 pm
Does anyone on here know what the problems are with the 17? It's beyond a joke now.

I was waiting for the 10:25 17 to Cramlington at Wallsend, it failed to turn up. Though at 10:50 5166 went through Wallsend displaying Not in Service carrying passegers, I'm starting to get sick of this service now as I wanted to go to Cramlington so couldn't get the 10:55 one as it was only going to Asda!!

The one back from North Shields was also a few minutes late. Surely something needs to be sorted with it as there was problems through the week with it.

Is this why 3977 was still on loan[Image: arrow-10x10.png] to Stanley last week then? As for 3813, it has a lot of making up to do.

Must say Myllenium 3973 is one of the best-kept buses I've seen in a while, it was immaculate when it made an appearance on the Blaydon Racers earlier.

Can't help but wonder what 3823 will have to say when it sees you having a ride on 3813, Robert. Tongue

Dennis Trident 3803 has been VOR for quite a while, so you could say that Volvo B7 3977 was covering for it...

The arrival of Volvo Olympian 3813 from Riverside means that 3977 has been able to return from its loan to Stanley, with 3813 covering for 3803 instead.

Nah - i was quite fond of 3816 but that got killed. Wouldnt want that to happen to 3823 (or 3813 for that matter!). Would still be an interesting sight though.

Has a few problems for me. Has no side dest and 1 less seat (off when it was allocated to DFDS 327) and has some stupid metal bar thing in front of the ticket machine and its bloody awkward to put my key card on the reader. I also find that it accelerates quite slowly compared to the other examples too.
