For gods sake. Any need to report this to a newspaper?

If it was the Northern Echo and an Arriva driver, the gesture would have knocked someone over. Wink Big Grin

If it was the Northern Echo it would be turned into an argument that Darlington needs a bus station.

Do think it is a bit OTT to put this in a paper. The photo has also appeared on his photostream.

My thoughts when this happens to me is, you (T-word) that's going in the Have You Ever thread.

I do think that the bloke takes things right out of proportion. A driver giving the thumbs up gets his photo cropped too. -.- https://www.flickr.com/photos/73802739@N...otostream/

Either way you will need to get a Bus to Durham, and get on the 43/44 and get off at Mountsett Garage, the Crem is a short walk from there.

Only the 43 goes to Dipton mind, not the 44/44A. Takes 45 minutes too.

Another option would be the 61 to Park Lane, Metro to Gateshead, then X70 to Dipton. The X70 takes about 30 minutes from Gateshead to Dipton, but you'll have to time your connections well as the X70 only operates hourly. It departs Gateshead at 40 mins past.

Thanks Tom...Gonna ask my old man if he fancies taking me, though I don't mind getting the bus, will make a day of it and being on my own means I can quietly reflect on why I am going to Mountsett Smile

Certainly hot here today, luckily we have air-con in the office and I'm able to go to work in my shorts - still a bit warm though! Managed to take advantage of the weather yesterday by leaving early to phot a few of the older buses on school runs Wink
