Bus Refurbishments & Repairs - Thorntons, Gardiners etc
Hi All

I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread to keep track of the various refurbishments going on at our two well known refurb/repair centres at Thornton Brothers, North Seaton (Ashington) and Gardiners, Spennymoor.

Currently at Thornton's are (as far as I know)
Arriva NE: 1502, 4700, 4721, 4722, 4723, 4724, 4725, 4726, 7519, 7520, 7521, 7602, 7604
First Aberdeen: 10170, 10171, 10172, 10183
Go North East: 4898, 4900, 4919, 4920, 4921, 6085

Gardiners will probably need a visit by someone but a bit to start us off...
Henry Cooper: RM1204, RM1735, RM1778

Might also be worth providing a reason (if it's known) for each vehicle being present, Scott? Smile

In Go North East's fleet, the following Volvo B10BLE/Wright Renown vehicles are at Thornton's for DDA modifications:
- 4900 (V990 ETN)
- 4910 (W491 SCU)
- 4919 (X919 WGR)

Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 6085 (NL63 YHN) is present at Thornton's for GKN flywheel modifications.

Volvo B10M/Plaxton Paragons 7080 (Y808 MFT) and 7082 (Y782 MFT) were at Thornton's until this afternoon, both of which were present to receive seating modifications (3+2 seating configuration) for use on school contracts at Hexham from next week.

Yup they'll work the boards that the deckers do at present.
The rest will be made up of Pulsars 1524-1533 (ex North West)

Aye all 7 Temsa's are still there - great to see they're starting to get painted though, suggests they're nearly ready to be added to our fleet.

There are a few Yorkshire gemini 2s currently at Thorntons being refurbished to MAX spec for service 229 from Huddersfield to Leeds.

Reviving a very old thread here...

Currently at Thorntons for refurbishment is former First Berkshire (and now Midlands) Mercedes Citaro 64035... in a very Transdev-like re-used Best Impressions livery!

Didn't look like much else was present other than a couple of TfL double-decks - although it's difficult to actually see inside now that there's a new housing development on the grass area you could previously walk all the way down.
