I think citaro5284 was explaining the link between the two services having the same brand, rather than why 'Citylink' is used.

I understand how the brand name could be misinterpreted as a link between two cities, but these brands advertise the links from the 'city' (Newcastle) to various places such as Gateshead, QEH, Leam Lane, Heworth, etc.

Ye, it can be, but i was joking when i was said about Heworth lol.

Its a good brand but i still think the 56 can be used for it to but then again, most of the other routes can be branded as Citylink.

Don't think the link of two cities has ever been the intention. Link to the City perhaps?

I quite like it. It looks a lot easier to navigate than the current news section.

The old red blue and yellow corporate livery was phased out towards the company's centenary year and replaced by a plain red livery. For the company's centenary year in 2013, Northern fleet names were added.

For the best part of a year or so, the company has been repainting their vehicles into fleet red again, this time without the 'Northern' logos. This is what we refer to as 'Go North East' on our fleet list.

There's now a Northern brand for services 6 and X70/X71, which looks a lot more modern. So as to avoid confusion with the new brand, all corporate liveried vehicles with 'Northern' fleet names will undergo repaint, especially double decks.

The Go North East livery is the same priciple as the Northern livery - a red background only without the Northern logos used to commemorate the companys 100th anniversary.

If it hadn't of been the Centenary Year would the various RYB liveries still exist.

Probably not - it is more expensive and takes more time to paint a bus in multiple colours opposed to a single base coat.

The main focus is of course the branded vehicles which is, at least to my knowledge, why there isn't a proper 'corporate livery', so to speak.

It does, will the Citaro's be allocated soon or are they still waiting for the B10's to be done?

The Mercs have been replacing the Volvo B10s on the 57 one by one, so to speak.

Has primarily been Mercs for the past week or two with the B10s going away for repaint and DDA mods.

The attitude of the driver on the 825 this morning was disgusting.

The bus didn't come at 8:09, as scheduled and it is quite common for it to be slightly late to which I don't have a problem with. However, as it got later and later, I started to question what had happened to it (ie. had it broken down or gone down early) as it was very unusual for it to be 15 minutes late. When it did finally come down the bank, I recognised the driver instantly - one that I had a previous encounter with in the past. Rather than asking us where we are going - he just stared at us and it eventually came clear that it had incurred this 15 minute delay because nobody had a clue what he was staring at us for (bearing in mind that we all had our school uniforms on and it was a school bus) as he wasn't asking us where we are going. Its fine if he wants to know where we were going but for him to stare at us and make the service late is, in my opinion, pretty disgusting.

I am not going to complain to Go North East - mainly because we did the last time and, regardless of whether the depot spoke to him or not, he hasn't changed his ways. On the other hand though, if i dont report it, they wont know anything to be able to do anything about it.
