Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2013
(24 Sep 2013, 7:04 am)Michael Me to, better than the MPD's.
Changes for the M1 should be posted in the next few weeks - changes are planned (by VOSA) on the 20.10.13 (as someone kindly re-posted it from VOSA =D, (saves me going back)
I think GNE will want to let people know about the change early since its a new brand and a new number. - Alot of confused OAP's!
We have so many new buses coming and fleet changes... its gonna be a good year and start of a new year.
Looking forward to seen the new Waggonway Brand on the Scania's soon
Noted a mistake on the new 13/14 timetable - Langley Park Stringer Terrace
1801,1830,1902,2002,2102,2202,2304,2400
Can you spot it?

(24 Sep 2013, 7:22 pm)aureolin And as defined in ISO 8601.
(24 Sep 2013, 8:31 pm)Andreos1 But are you in the 'would look sexy on one of those buses you see in a Spanish holiday resort' camp?
I am quite intrigued as to why GNE have to decided to re-number the M1 to 4 as does seem to be a bit of an odd move regarding a rebrand, plus it would seem pointless re-numbering the M1 but not the M2/M3 as this would potentially confuse Passengers.
So would it not make more sense to also re-number the M2/M3 to 4A/4B, and have both under the "4 Connections" Brand alongside the M1 instead of a re-branded "Washington Street Shuttle" on the Versa's off the Saltwell Park.
(24 Sep 2013, 8:23 pm)Andreos1 Can any of the insiders confirm why the MetroLink branding (and numbering) is going?
Is it a political decision or a marketing one?
(24 Sep 2013, 9:07 pm)busman101 Super new buses for a 10min frequency service through Fencehouses with wifi & next stop announcements - you must be cock-a-hoop !

(24 Sep 2013, 9:16 pm)Andreos1 If I lived in Fencehouses I would be over the moon with wifi. Hopefully it will have plugs too
The Fencehouses Popular Front will be over the moon. The powers that be at GNE towers just have to give them a service that runs beyond 9pm now!

(24 Sep 2013, 9:38 pm)busman101 If Fencehouses was that popular it would have a bus after 9pm, but if there's no demand for a commercial service, it could always go out to tender from the local authority, but they mustn't think it justifies the expenditure

I agree with andreos1.
To be honest, if Shiney Row, Fence Houses and Houghton-le-Spring can justify a service every 10 minutes during the day to The Galleries, Concord and Heworth, as well as a service every 30 minutes on Sunday daytimes (on the M1), why can't an evening service beyond Fatfield be viable? Even if they decided to bother with an hourly service, it would be a start!
