Could possibly be Highfield Middle School, Prudhoe?? They have blue Sweaters and Yellow Polo shirts.

I know prior to the school summer holidays some of the schools in Prudhoe were still using Howard Snaiths for their school trips!

From the Hexham Courant:

A PUBLIC inquiry into the activities of Redesdale coach company, Snaith of Otterburn, has been adjourned.

The hearing was due to take place in Leeds next Tuesday, with the Office of the Traffic Commissioner for the North of England considering disciplinary action.

The company and its drivers were earlier found guilty of a series of tachograph offences after a trial at Newcastle Crown Court.

It is understood fresh evidence has been served on the firm and a new date for the hearing is yet to be fixed.

I noticed a Howard Snaith coach follow a Nightingales up Blaydon Bank yesterday afternoon, around 3.00 to 3.30 ish, I Guessed for St Thomas More School.

Didn't get chance to post this last night, however from G-CPTN post above, it confirms my guess, was correct.

I wonder why St Thomas More have continued to use Howard Snaith? Although St Thomas More are now an Academy and obviously weren't a NCC school.

Heard today from a GNE driver that Howard Snaith has had the licence reduced from 90 to 30 and his son will take over.

He said that he read this in a newspaper in the 'office'.

Any one able to substantiate this?

Edited to add:- http://www.newspostleader.co.uk/news/loc...-1-7605668

I don't know how they propose to draw a line under the whole thing, because the brand is now tarnished in my opinion.

I cannot see them regaining the Northumberland County Council contracts that are now being served by GNE, Primrose, Tyne Valley and PCL.

Council terminates Northumberland contracts

At least not in the foreseeable future.

I notice that the article absolves Alison Snaith from blame and points towards rogue drivers . . .  Dodgy

Surely drivers should be properly trained and monitored.

Talk of making a mockery.

I dont know anything about the case brought against the firm but if they have been driving over their hours and ignoring set break times and the number of hours between driving each week it will all show up on the Tacho maybe a driver was pulled in by VOSA for a check on the road side and they asked to see his Tacho i know years ago when i was a wagon driver we had to keep a weeks worth in the cab and every Friday hand them in to the Transport Manager so if VOSA or as it was in those days Dept of Transport visited they could see we had stuck to the law concering hours they have been lots of drivers been caught out months later for speeding driving over their hours when VOSA have visited and checked their Tachos.I am quite surprised a high profile firm like Snaiths have been up to this sort of thing as they seem very high profile.

I read that there was an instance where drivers taking a tour coach onto the continent didn't 'clock on' until they reached Colchester (where they picked up their passengers).

Driving a coach or a crew car? There's loads that have drivers take a car down to Kent or some other changeover point and then drive 9 hours into France.

As I read it (it appeared in the 'charges' during one of the preliminary hearings) they were driving the coach.

I cannot find the actual report now, though . . .

Driving a car or crew van behind the Coach to save driving hours has been going on since Tachos were first brought in as was taking the cable off so ths clock did not work and some drivers used to wait till they joined the A1 but these days it moved on with Tacho cards.
