Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2017

RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2017
As I posted in Last Months thread, 7810 has been branded with "Explore the North East with MAX" rather than 308 branding as seen on the other 9 hybrids.
7810 is shown here in its new branding https://flic.kr/p/W48aKm

Personally, I think this looks better than the cluttered MAX liveries seen recently and also allows flexibility in allocations.

Not a fan tbh, the simple Best Impressions generic branding looks better than what the NE and Yorks marketing team have been spouting out recently.

Interesting that they're still wasting time and money designing stuff like this, seeing that the Max brand has been succeeded.

7504 also branded for the 43/44/45 and in service today.  7502 also in service on the 43/44/45 but still with X21/22 branding

Surprised they kept the old livery. I thought these might be the first north east repaints. Not complaining though as that livery is much better!

Anybody know is there anywhere in Whitby where u can obtain local bus timetables for Whitby town services and park & ride.
RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - August 2017
What is wrong with the silver line that usually goes beneath the 'via' points on the branding? Even if only minor, the livery looks incomplete without it.

It has probably been done on purpose, given that they will be repainted in the next few years but if they have been bothered to spend money launching the 306/308 as MAX when the brand will be dropped in the same time amount of time, they should be able to spend what I imagine will be a much smaller amount on some silver strips and blue circles.

Removed in error.

1588 is on emergency loan to Ashington tonight, due to an incident on 4653. 1588 is on X18.

Same when they launched the 27/27A as Frequenta, them repainted Pulsars were new too!

Incident on 4653? That should be fun on the X18...

Newer than what the Gosforth residents have been complaining about for God knows how long anyway... At least they've used an E400 on the picture this time!

Not many passengers on board tbh, was some drunk lass being sick on 4653  Dodgy

These 43/44/45 E400s would be in the new livery had it not for the marketing team outright refusing to use it.

Are the 14-plates that are staying at Ashington getting repainted?

Surprised that 4653 was allocated to an all day duty on the X18 anyway to be honest. Issues with the E400s?

If they don't like the new livery, I would advise they go find another job elsewhere.

Enter the railway station by the Arriva office on the left and there's usually loads of leaflets on the left hand side. Or the tourist information office.

Absolutely no idea, however with this marketing team in charge I'd doubt it, until they're forced to do it.

There's always some issues with the E400s tbh  Big Grin

Ever since they brought in the new marketing director in 2015, everything has gone downhill tbh, oh and the fact he has no idea about the services he's promoting either...

Same bloke responsible for the amazing Max X46 and 306/308 liveries...

Shame we can't have someone who knows what they're doing, even some of the posters that I've mocked up look better than the rubbish that's being made by them recently, and I've only been using Photoshop for 2 month  Big Grin

Think there needs to be some sort of authoritative line on this. Understand not repainting the rest of the NE fleet, but it looks shoddy and unprofessional to have at least 3 allocated every day in a completely different livery.

Same culprits as always? Saw 7511 broke down the other week, and 7517 didn't seem to leave the depot for at least a fortnight in June/July.

Completely agree. All of the buses that normally operate on a route should look exactly the same both inside and out, excluding bodywork differences.

I appreciate that the Pulsars on the 7 and original X21/X22 E400s were ordered prior to the white destination display on the front becoming part of the specification, but I do not see why white front destinations have not been fitted to refurbishments since then, especially when most other divisions have been able to do so.

They must have got her going again. Just as well, Ashington can't really afford to lose any more vehicles right now.
