Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2018

RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2018
The Centros have arrived from Yorkshire and they are

1535 (YJ58 FFB)
YJ58 FFO
YJ58 FFP

The later two will be 1536/7 but which way round is as yet unknown

Two are currently parked outside in Stockton depot yard in the dead corner while the third is inside being worked on. Note of caution - don’t expect to see them on the road anytime soon.....

Funny, as I said on here last week that they would be 15xx and I was told I was wrong and they would be 1397-1399. Nice to be proven right eh Jase?

I can just pass on the info I'm given. It's not my fault it's duff info.

In other news. 1457 will be VOR for a bit as it was involved in quite a nasty shunt at Thornaby Station and has a buckled floor so will be at Gardeners getting pulled back into shape.

Centro update - All 3 arrived with no CCTV so they are all getting a complete electrical rework plus CCTV fitment. We have been getting mixed reports about econospeed on these so if you want a proper ride get on them first few days they are on the road.

No, they will stay at Whitby for the foreseeable.

They may end up running at other depots across the winter to release buses for refurbishment etc, but will be back at Whitby by next Easter.

When will we be seeing the Centros released into service? Also will any Cadets be retained?

It finished S1s (with me at the helm) and was required to replace 1554 on 5s it had its accident on the way back to the depot upon completing 5s.

In regards to the Cadets. Not this year, the centros are our extra Christmas buses. However some of the older pulsars will be getting referbed very soon so dont count them off just yet!

Think it will be a couple of weeks away before we see the Centros as they need rewiring, CCTV fitted, Vandle screens, fleet numbers, ticket machine equipment and various other parts.

Correct. If any buses are to move depots it's the B7s. I believe Whitby have 3? 7424-26. 7609 and 10 will stay for spares on X93s

Relating to what I poosted in the rare and odd workings thread yesterday about 1499 on the X7/8
It is actually at blyth for presumably afew weaks covering for 1505 which had an accident yesterday (presumably the the X7 or X8 as that's what 1499 ended up on) untill 1505 is back from repairs

Do you know if 7410 and 7411 are just moving depots or being withdrawn?. I would have hoped that if it was withdrawal then 7485 and 7487 would go first as they are not MAX and in my opinion 7410 and 7411 offer much better ride quality.
