In someways, its not end of the world if they remove certain brands.... the likes of the Whey Aye Five-0 was ridiculous, same as See It Do it Sunderland....

I believe the See It Do It was a council initiative?? Sure there was a few EC trains running with the same thing

Is the current PVR not 14? Therefore the green big days out B9 could officially join coaster brand

I like the new timetable design. For this service, at least, it's nice and clear and easy to use. The test will be more complex and frequent services like the Angel and the the tens as, obviously, a lot more information is needed within the format.

Hopefully "ToonLink" will be next to go. North West Durham services to Stanley /Consett  6, 6A , X30/31 X70/X71 - People in the area don't refer to Newcastle as "the Toon"! (That's a Geordie term - Not County Durham "Pit Yakker!") - Town & Country would suit better or even back to Northern & Northern Express (line) as Northern was well established from Stanley & Consett (along with Venture) serving the "Town" (a.k.a. Newcastle)... or may be something completely different!

Good to see the more corporate identity taking shape, but would like to see more meaningful Express routes, and maybe a re-zoning of Day Rover to take in Stanley & Consett into Multi operator tickets accessing Coast & Airport via Metro etc.. in Day Rover Ticket pricing (Some longer Journeys within Tyne & Wear (Nexus zone) already qualify!

Particularly like EYM new branding mixing traditional with modern corporate identity.

Think they'll go for the booklet style that Arriva used to use. Anything is an improvement over the excessively sized timetables which GNE used to use and what Arriva use now!

Why do they need to? The 42/42A also serve North Shields - is this not a coastal town now?

The Little Coasters brand sits within the blue North Tyneside family of brands - Coaster and Cobalt & Coast. The Little Coaster buses provide connections and links to the "big" coastal buses.

Absolutely. That was my biggest gripe with the old format.

For now, at least, everything will be done in the style it was previously.

I wouldn't read too much into X-lines and Best Impressions being the standard for everything. The whole X-lines concept is to try and set apart a more premium customer experience and better quality product from 'standard' local service work, a la Sapphire, MAX, Stagecoach Gold etc.

Clearly this is difficult to do by way of the specification of the bus, as Go North East's standard specification is already quite high, but the livery design has been purposely designed to look a bit more premium (more colour etc, use of gold) and a different style of timetable including detailed route map etc.

When will the online timetables be changed from the horrid black and white versions to GNE standard?

I wouldn't say it was. Or ever was.
The fact it's town centre overlooks the river (or is actually further inland if you take in to account the outlying suburbs) tells me it's not.

Are Tynemouth, Cullercoats, Whitley Bay on the coast and therefore coastal towns or villages - yes.
North Shields - no.

Really... We're talking here as if North Shields is a million miles away from Tynemouth. The outlying suburbs I'd agree aren't coastal but the town centre is just a stone's throw away from the likes of Tynemouth which is strongly associated with the coast. Huh

Suppose Stagecoach will have to do away with the 'Seasider' open-top brand, as North Shields Ferry Landing isn't at the seaside, just a river...

Possibly. But as it then continues to the seaside/coast, then possibly not.

Think we're being a weeny bit pedantic here. North Tyneside Council certainly regard it as a coastal town, as part of their coastal walks - by the way, it's a lovely walk I might add down on a joyous day like today. Cracked open my Collins dictionary and the actual definition of the word 'Coastal' is to be positioned on or near the coast. North Shields' boundaries on a map are near enough the coast for it to be classed as coastal man....

I'm sure the residents of North Shields won't start picketing, they might be even be joyful that their pink inDigo buses have been splashed with some lovely colours.....

As the Blue Arrow 11 is being replaced by the Coaster 1A, are the NSAs going to be changed? The 1 and 1A won't have all the required announcements currently. Just interested, the 11 didn't have NSAs so they are not vital. Is the Little Coasters 11 going to get NSAs? Shouldn't it be Little Coaster? A bus can't be a Little Coasters! It's one bus.

Are the Cobalt & Coast NSAs going to have the Cobalt Clipper brand removed?

They'll be disabled in the short-term, but longer-term will have the announcements re-enabled for the Coaster 1, 1A and 1B. I think the announcements on the refurbished Volvo B9 have been disabled on the 309/310 already, so shouldn't show the Cobalt Clipper brand name anymore.

The Little Coasters won't have Next Stop Announcements anymore (as the Solos which have the announcements are being moved across to different routes).

Anyone know what is changing with the Tynedale Express X84 and X85 next month? Where is the new Toon Tour going to go?
Rapidsnap   16 May 2019, 3:39 pm
Remember in the early 90s buses ran by Go-Ahead in North Tyneside carried the Coastline name despite 60% of services not going near the coast.

I think Little Coasters is a great brand name, gives the buses in North Tyneside their own identity.
