This time it is the Kane Gang.
Several of their videos were shot locally and one tune provided the inspiration for the theme tune for a long-running TV show based in the region!
25 #NEBpoints for the person who can identify the song from the examples below and name the TV show.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=q_qTPj-pDmQ (how they managed to get a days filming at the town moor without it raining is anyones guess...)
Keep your eyes peeled for my next locally based 80's (maybe early 90's) tunesters.
Undecided whether to choose Ant & Dec, Jimmy Nail or Prefab Sprout.

However, as threatened previously, I've been listening to more locally based tunesters.
It wasnt Jimmy Nail nor Ant & Dec.
It has been Witton Gilbert's greatest export since the 726 did a loop around the village on its way back to Newcastle.

Prefab sprout have done more to put Whitton Gilbert on the map than the local sausages, or even Tom Robinson, who mentions it a lot.
Another local band. This time Hartlepool based 'Sneaker pimps'.
A 'bit' more modern than some previous submissions!
Can't confirm if the video was filmed on The Headland or not unfortunately.
Back in time again!
Another Sunderland based band and other ditty dedicated to a TV star of the day (not Dierdrie Barlow this time).
A little further south this time! Biancos nightclub in Stockton, the A64 at Tadcaster and Clifford's Tower, York.
On Tyneside again and a little bit more recent.
Various metro stations and parts of the town.
No local connections as far as I'm aware with this one!
Was never really in to these at the time, but rediscovered them recently.
Of course, this video was before Sarah Cracknell did the vocals. Always found her the most attractive feature of the group, even if I wasn't in to their music.

That one often gets an airing on 6 music. Very easy on the ears.

Can't remember this one at all.
But here's The Wildhearts. https://youtu.be/yE90CbWeKTU?feature=shared
Jumping on the Newcastle bandwagon well before Sam Fender was a twinkle in his father's eye.
