South Shields routes being revised this weekend.

3, 4 7 and 8 all being amalgamated into the 1 and 2 every 30 minutes.
Not sure on the rest at the minute.

Full changes from the 12th April - Newcastle seems to be avoided this set of changes.

And Hartlepool drops from PVR 15 to PVR 10 (-1 on 3/3A, and -4 on 6/7) - suggestion would be to likewise moving Hartlepool's operation to Stockton

Wouldn't be surprised if we see Slatyford, South Shields and Hartlepool close soon then.

Seems daft to run only a few buses from these depots, when they can be merged.

Fully agree.  Sunderland and Shields could possibly interwork the E services and 30/X20 with the Shields locals also  so possibly would reduce on dead mileage for changeovers also.

ifm001 I think it’s a good idea to merge both Sunderland and Shields depot’s together?

On the Sunderland set of changes, it’s ironic that they’ve said to use the 33 in Silksworth, but that’s only running between the Docks and City Centre!

Especially seeing as 35188 is Shields and the 23 is Sunderland.
Also with regards to you seeing 37xxx and 39xxx in operation in Shields, its hardly Latest News as this Forum is headed.   Shields have 30 odd buses at the depot of which only 3 are not 37xxx or 39xxx so it is quite obvious that you will see the majority of one of the E200s in operation.

The 3/20s are interworking with a combined PVR of 4. Th 4s PVR is 3 and looks like the X24/X34 will interwork at Newcastle with a combined PVR of 3

That's a typo Tongue

So PVR drops by 4 more, so a total of 30 of buses needed.

Shame they can't all be gas bus allocated.

Q: Why does SNE keeping running DD on 1 and 22 Newcastle, when its less expenive ro run e.g. single like Alx 300 instead of storing them?

Not many ppl on them.

Thanks.

Can I just stress you should not be going out to spot buses. This is not essential. If you noted the vehicles from the window of your home or whilst out for exercise then fair enough. But when we are in the middle of a highly dangerous pandemic bus hunting is not acceptable.

Stagecoach logic tbh... i can't comment on which is best for fuel etc, because i have no idea.

GNE are planning to bin their deckers at Deptford from next week, and replace them with streetlites, as the X31/X71 will become Solo.

Would have thought the ADL E400 MMCs are better on fuel than older ALX300s.

Have they not swapped them from the E400s to the Hybrid E400's?

Kind Regards

I understand that E400 MMC can be more better fuel but with less than 6 ppl on it i thought i would make sense to use singe dd instead.

E400H are being used and so is E400 and MMC.

Thanks all for input.
