MG’s live Facebook updates

MG’s live Facebook updates
Morning guys, I wondered if whenever MG posts a Facebook live update someone could be so kind as to post a link to it on this thread, for those (few) of us who don’t use Facebook?
It’d be much appreciated.
Cheersssssss Smile

No, nothing.

I don't think he's done an enthusiasts one for a while with Dan either. Although having said that, they've probably got better things to do than listen to enthusiasts telling them Xlines is the wrong shade of gold, the destinations are the wrong fonts and that there was no bog on the X11!

Haha, yeah I’d guessed they’d been too busy for an enthusiasts special. I wondered if he’d done any staff updates with news recently.

So that explains why the social distancing signs were being removed from the buses! So it's basically back to normal in terms of capacity, other than the rearward facing seats and the seats directly behind the driver

On the 31st May I'll be sure to pay for my £1 evening ticket with a £20 note just to remember how much fun it is pissing the driver off!

Not sure how that is fun! Deliberately antagonising driving staff that have kept a region moving throughout the pandemic.

I mean, let's be real. Bus drivers have been some of the most well protected 'key workers' throughout the whole pandemic. They've been in a protected bubble behind a screen since the very start, have very little contact with passengers other than the few seconds as they buy their ticket.

Compared to the likes of supermarket workers, emergency services, and even taxi drivers who have to be face to face with people every day, bus drivers have had it easy!

What a ridiculous thing to say. Protective screen or not, they've been on the frontline. Not only that, their employers have conducted a thorough risk assessment and taken necessary precautions, but it doesn't eliminate risk and as we've seen with some depots, there have been outbreaks and even deaths.

I think you need to engage your brain before your fingers.

Did I say otherwise? No!

What I said was that there are plenty of other key workers that have had to put up with far worse protections. MG himself has even said that bus drivers are amongst the most protected of all the frontline key workers.

Were those outbreaks in depots directly down to them being a bus driver (ie. catching COVID from passengers), or by the drivers themselves not following the precautions set out by their employer outside of the cab?
From the stories that were circulating, and from my own experience of seeing Arriva drivers standing around smoking together with no social distancing, I'd put money on it being the latter.

Sure drivers will love giving you your £19 change all in pound coins......just to remember how much fun that part is.

Once your description gets properly circulated, I'm sure arrangement will be made to provide your change entirely in 1p and 2p coins!

You don’t need to have an account to watch the videos, hence this thread so those who do use Facebook can kindly share the link with those of us who don’t as they see new videos posted. Smile

I thought that was the case until Facebook keeps trying to prompt me to sign up to continue watching.

(18 Jun 2021, 11:12 pm)JP6004 wrote MG confirmed on twitter, the 25 is due refurbished buses toward end of the year
Would that be in the form of 6043-6048 if the 26 is no longer interworked with the 27 meaning 6001, 6049 and 6050 can act as spares for the 27, 58, 93/94, 10/10A/10B/10X alongside perhaps 6099?

Obviously 6084-86 would form the Tyne Valley Ten PVR alongside 6071-6083.

As long as 6086 doesn't get repainted I'd be fine.
