Future GNE rail replacements
With the ECML shut North of Newcastle on the 19th will GNE be operating the Newcastle/Berwick to Edinburgh rail replacements. If so will the 12:10 off Newcastle be GNE as I quite fancy getting a GNE levante off the X9/X10.

Go North East have a number of duties on both Saturday 03-10-20 and Sunday 04-10-20.  These will be operated by full size single deck vehicles from a number of depots.

No not on the Newcastle - Morpeth Arriva Northern Trains.  Yes on LNER, Cross Country and Grand Central.

RE: Future GNE rail replacements
I know I'm bringing back a pretty dead thread but I think it will be a good place to record our findings, queries and anything we track on rail replacements operated by GNE, I'll start and it looks like Chester-Le-Street based B11RTs 7136 & 7137 are allocated to rail replacement duties according to bus times (both tracking on route 999 which is normally used for tracking dead runs however they are recorded tracking along the rail replacement route). I'll keep everyone updated as I'll be heading out and having a see for myself what GNE are using. 7110 from Deptford has also been out today from the first journey on the rail replacement.

Yes, the benefit for you lot with the coaches being fitted with ticket machines now. We need to be logged in so SDC can contact us if needed. Same was true last few replacements too I believe.

I was wondering how long  it would be till GNE use an elite on rail replacements, now we just have to see if one gets sent to Edinburgh during the annual ECML north closure in September/October.

With the annual ECML closure north of Newcastle I wonder if GNE will have rail replacements this year and if so what will be allocated

Yes, and I'd imagine a mix of Levantes and Elites (the Voyager and Xlines) depending on what's available, like this weekend.

Thank you for the info, I'll deffinately be getting afew journeys in on the rail replacements for to see what GNE (And indeed the other operators who will be operating) are using and try ride some of the more interesting vehicles, imagine seeing an X-lines elites up in Northumberland & Scotland will be strange hopefully I'll catch that voyager one though.

With GNE's current staff shortages will they be operating any East Coast rail replacements this weekend, or will they be prioritising their own services and leaving rail replacements for the independents

I'd hope they'd be focusing on their own customers, but the income from the rail replacement work is far greater than the (nil) compensation they have to pay out to their own customers.
