I believe NSAs have been recorded for every service? Does that mean every service will have NSAs fitted in the near future? Little Coasters won't get new buses as they don't go into Newcastle, but not sure if the 74 is getting new buses or just emission mods?

Little Coasters are getting the Ex-Venture buses. With NSA which I believe are recorded for every service, and there is a EV bid for the 74 iirc.

But if these solos coming to Percy Main are going to have NSA on board. That's gonna seem odd that only 4 solos at Percy Main have NSA yet the rest don't

I don't know where the NSA stuff is coming from, they don't have it anyway?

They're ex. Percy Main Solo's (647 - 651) as much as they're ex. Venture (they got removed from there nearly 5 year ago).

Didn't the NSA get stripped out of some of the Solos to get put into other vehicles that were getting refurbed a few years ago?

Plus im pretty sure during one of the GNE Enthusiasts Facebook live Dan and Martijn said that non of the little coaster buses would never get NSA due to how old they are

Yes. The original kits out of 641-652 got taken out and put in 6043-6048 when moved off the X9/10 iirc.

I can't confirm 100% but sure 641 - 646 still have them in. It was just the ones which moved out of Consett at the time when they we're replaced by the 59 plate older Solo's and sent to Percy Main for the W1/W3/333 contracts.

641 - 652 all had them taken out - the screens were used in 6043 - 6048 as previously suggested, as were six of the units. From memory (it was 4 years ago now!) the remaining units were kept as spares as they were all out of warranty.

641 - 646 later had Next Stop Announcements fitted again (as well as Wi-Fi) as part of a collaborative effort with Durham County Council to improve services in the Consett area - whenever the X5/X15 were extended to Shotley Bridge.

Was on 678 39 graphite earlier today no mention of the new brand in the next stop announcement yet I later get on 8343 39 non brand and all I get is this is the graphite 39A service to Doxford park.  The mind boggles!!
Black Cats 39 sounds so much better IMO

Perhaps there's an issue with the unit updating on 678 and it's waiting for an engineer from Hanover to attend/repair the fault?

The mind boggles...

Are the Little Coasters and Tynedale Links getting NSAs?

When are the Little Coasters getting the ex-Venture buses mentioned a few days ago? They will need repainting for service. Hopefully the 11, 19, 41/41A and 42/42A will all get new buses and NSAs.

No to NSA.

Why would they need repainting? The 19 hasn't been part of the awful Little Coaster network for ages now anyway so could easily be on there. It should have the 'nicer' buses anyway since it's the one with the longest journey times whereas the 11 and 41 are shorter hop journeys.

You mean you don't need to know that Durham Cathedral is above a tight loop of the River Wear?

Honestly, that pisses me right off because it's not a loop! A loop is "a shape produced by a curve that bends round and crosses itself." Unless there's some magic floating river I've never heard of in Durham, it doesn't cross over itself and therefore isn't a loop!

Anyway, I just sit back and relax in the comfortable seats and connect to the free WiFi, and listen out for further announcements along the route.

That sounds rather touristy that commentary. Why is that included on a public service/commuter bus?

Yeah, that's one of the things I loved about the X9/X10 NSA, and I'm glad they brought it over.

One thing I do really like is the fact it tells you it runs express, so CLS it says 'this service will now run non-stop to Low Fell, where we will arrive in approx 13 minutes', then at Low Fell it says 'this service will now run non-stop to Gateshead Interchange where we will arrive in approx. 8 minutes'.

I feel like since they started doing that, the amount of people trying to get off between Low Fell and CLS has basically dropped to zero, where beforehand it was a regular occurrence.
