West Denton Way is closed at the end near Westerhope McDonald's for 'road improvements' so basically causing more congestion as there's nothing wrong with the roads there as they are.

https://www.newcastle.gov.uk/sites/defau...l%20J9.pdf - Plans there.

I’m not!

Expansion in North Tyneside (for any Nexus contracts) would be where Stagecoach would be prioritising their driver resource, not the 100 (which presumably doesn’t make much money, and there is an agreed ticket acceptance in place with Go North East).

Expansion!?!

Plugging more like. Expansion sounds too positive like they're exploiting gaps in the market rather than receiving money to operate services by the local transport authority on a contractual basis.

Is that a suggestion that stagecoach have won most of the North Tyneside/Newcastle contracts as expected?

No. Operators don’t yet know the results of the tenders and there is a 10-day cooling off period once that has happened. It will be the end of the month now before anything is confirmed.

Logic would dictate that they would prefer to expand on contracts (guaranteed revenue) than the 100 (must not make that much profit otherwise it wouldn’t have been suspended).

I was wondering if they'd re-instated the 100. They must still see a future for it, as it's on their new route map.

Ah, I had thought they would have been awarded by now - unless there have been some changes as a result of the consultations.

Partly fitting into the topic of this thread - a number of additional Megabus journeys and destinations will be added from the 27th March:
Certain North East to London journeys will serve York.
Darlington will gain a twice-daily service to and from London with an additional journey in each direction on weekends - one daily journey plus the weekend-only turn will be operated by Linburg of Sheffield. The weekend-only turns follow a long-winded route within the region - the Southbound departs Newcastle at 0930 and will call at Sunderland (1000) and Middlesbrough (1040) en-route to Darlington (1100) before running to Leeds (
Hodgsons' Megabus working will move onto a new weekend-only service to Liverpool - departing Newcastle at 1030, calling at Sunderland (1100), Middlesbrough (1140), Leeds (1300) and Manchester (1420) arriving into Liverpool ONE at 1540. The return journey departs Liverpool at 1705 and arrives in Newcastle at 2205 via the same points.
Durham gains additional calls - in addition to the present M20 at 1400 (to London) and 1535 (to Edinburgh - moving to 1550 from 27th March), it gains calls on the weekend-only Linburg-operated northbound journey to Newcastle (departing London at 1500, arriving in the North East at 2140 in Middlesbrough, 2200 in Darlington, 2230 in Durham and terminating in Newcastle at 2300) and the overnight journey from London to Newcastle that also serves Darlington (0750 at Darlington, 0820 at Durham - additionally serves Middlesbrough at 0710). It additionally gains a southbound journey at 0510 on the daily Linburg-operated turn to London (arriving in London at 1225 - via Darlington at 0600)
