Not yet although we’re needing 887 desperately now as 24120 had a small thermal incident on the 52 this morning

I’m surprised it hasn’t as it was repainted a little while ago. 22889 should be heading there soon as well hopefully 24120 can be repaired and re enter service

22428 has re entered service at Slatyford after not being seen since July 2022. It is currently on service 71 not tracking. Must have been brought back out to go to Stockton with the others.

Whatever happened to 24120 on Friday can't have been serious - it was back out on 57/58s yesterday.
As for 22887. was speaking to a driver yesterday - he had been sent to Wheatsheaf to collect 22887 and before he could leave, it broke down.

Looks likely to have been an Engineering Test Run - given it's already back at Stockton.

A tender was issued a few weeks ago for a new circular service from Saltburn round East Cleveland on behalf of Redcar and Cleveland Council (two hourly clockwise and two hourly counter-clockwise - combined hourly departures from Saltburn) which I understand has been awarded to Stagecoach. A variety of vehicles have been out testing the route - likelihood now is it will be a standard vehicle given the extension of Tees Flex, as prior to the 18 months extension, it was assumed 44005/6/15/17 would have been retained for the work.

Test run, turned back at the A182, often work through to Seaham and Seaham Grange, then back A19. This one just used A19 each way.

My guess would be the next move involving 22890 and 27248 once 22890 has had the work needed to make it roadworthy and repaint. It’s going to take a long time to transfer all the buses I’d imagine most of the year.

22428 received a new engine hence why it was off the road since July last year. Unsure or what engine it got but I don’t believe it’s Euro 6 so should still end up leaving Newcastle.

Whatever engine it is it’s left it down on power to the point where it is not allowed on the fastline services, where the ALX300’s spend most of their time, due to only doing 30mph on the central motorway yet it’s on them today it should be allocated to 71/72 the the foreseeable future

ooh i might get a chance to ride it then

hopefully Newcastle and slatyford in particular is due some new single deck vehicles at some point, the ex Stockton E300s seem to do well on the 685, I don't know if any of the MMCs have been on it yet. i cant see the 09 E300s lasting on the 685 if they ever got allocated to it

RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
I’ve heard from a fellow driver at Slatyford that 22408,409,411,412&413 are all due to go sometime in March. I’d imagine the others 22428,443,444,570,574,580,581 will join them as well.
