I already suggested merging 33 and 113 together with service extending to Peterlee bus station to scarlet band and DCC 2 weeks after scarlet band took on service 33. it's a non starter.

I remember It used to run between Hartlepool and Chilton then it changed to Service 3 to Bishop Auckland, then it started running between Hartlepool and Ferryhill via Chilton then connected to Service 8A to Darlington, then the 33 route was changed to serve Bishop Middleham to replace the 69 and 56? through there. The current 33 route is pretty much the old 69 route between Ferryhill and Sedgefield.

Our Bus MX55 WCZ was out on the 16/16A for the second Thursday in a row today. No idea where the Pink Bus has been for the last fortnight as various liveried Solos have been allocated.

The TMS 235 service was Durham to Horden when United took over TMS they cancelled there 55 service and the 235 service went from Durham to Stockton then later it went to Middlesbrough the TMS 234 service was Houghton le Spring to Stockton later when united ran the service the Houghton to Peterlee section was cancelled, the 234 remained in service until fairly recently.

Thanks for the info, I remember just before TMS, TWOC got bought that service 234 did get extended from Houghton-le-spring to Sunderland via the 161 route in 1989ish as I used to get this to School at Houghton, also Favourite (Busways) did service 234 between Houghton and Peterlee section of the TMS route to compete with services against TMS.

I was just wondering what contract/service Scarlet band does in Stanhope as i have seen one the Solos coming up and down the main street on a afternoon recently.

Not surprising really as most days the 42 is carrying fresh air.

252 is on a separate registration and hasn't been cancelled (yet?) so should continue unchanged.

I feel sorry for the people of Brasside who rely on buses as from Sunday the last Arriva 42 from Durham City will be at 1408 and now it seems that's all they'll have from October as Scarlet Band's 42 will be withdrawn.

I think there are still some houses up there as thanks to an Arriva driver who had the wrong destination on the screen on the 7A I went up there once, although some could walk and get the 64.

It's kinda like when the 16/16A was withdrawn School Aycliffe now only has a limited service to Heighington and Newton Aycliffe on weekdays only with people going to Darlington often walk to Heighington to get service 1 to Darlington while most concession pass holders will get the 116 to either Aycliffe or Heighington then another bus to reach Darlington and will often get the peak time only 16A from Darlington to School Aycliffe home on an evening. Also Burnhill Way lost its service to Tesco and many of the people who boarded at Burnhill Way were elderly and can't get the 7 to the Town Centre then walk to Tesco because its too far for them. Ideally a better town route is needed in Newton Aycliffe as Woodham are often saying that they want a bus to Tesco.

Arriva have a number of service changes coming from the end of October so it may be a case of wait and see! The registrations have been sent so we'll have to wait til they appear on the VOSA site

I have no idea but the cancellation was for the end of October, its possible that the extra weekday afternoon journeys are possibly supported by Durham County Council like the school day journeys that were previously operated by Central Coaches. So perhaps the 42 may not be cancelled in October now.

I'm now wondering how long until Arriva stop serving Brasside altogether.

The 42 cancellation appears to be a mistake on VOSA as I've just looked back to Thursday when it was posted and it says cancellation accepted then it says to amend timetable from yesterday in the same registration.
