Stanley's former "Red Kite" branded Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity 5234 (NK56 KHB) is, as we speak, in the process of being prepared for its repaint, ahead of new vehicles arriving for the "Red Kite" services in the coming weeks and its consequent cascade to another service.

There have been no new arrivals today.

Is 557 being repainted also or just retrimmed, wonder if this could New Buses for the Tynedale Links Network.

Doubt it.

Unless GNE have got buses going to be transferred to the Tynedale Links - possibly the silver Mercs...

Repainted into a fresh plain yellow base livery for the AD122 and additionally re-trimmed - to match 561 which is going to transfer to Hexham from Deptford until September.

Are there not going on the FAB57 route?, the FAB57 buses looking really worn these days, GNE rep already stated that the FAB57 will not be getting new buses for that route, so assume it will be hand me down buses. Undecided

They don't just look worn. They're sounding rough and feel rough too.
Have done for a while now.

No - the PVR was two last year.

524 and a "Tynedale Links" branded MPD were used last year. 535 transferred to Hexham from Peterlee to cover for the "Tynedale Links" branded vehicle and was often found on service 74. The reason 535 wasn't used was because the bus had to be fitted with LEDs, and 535 only had flipdots.

I was browsing the internet this morning and came across this site:

http://chasingnewpaint.blogspot.co.uk/

It has a picture of the GNE streetlite in Lime colour (its on a rear shot of the bus) and probably the red streetlites either side of the lime one, probably for the red kites are normal red spares?

also couple of pictures of ANE streetlites with max and sapphire spec (pictures are only rear shots of the bus).

Nice find mate.

Have to admit i was wrong about the streetlites being in lime being horrid... they look quite good.

They also look nice is red, these will probables be for the Lime as chester-le-street and Stanley are both getting a spare.

Although we'd already covered the information regarding new arrivals, confirmation has today been posted on Go North East's fleet news:
"Four new Wright Streetlite DF Micro Hybrids have been received for service X66 to the Metrocentre - 5391: NK15 EMV, 5392: NK15 EMX, 5393: NK15 ENC and 5394: NK15 ENE. They are painted in the same blue as Connections 4. Volvo B12B 7093: K3 VOY has been returned to National Express work at Chester le Street."

Riverside's former "Crusader" branded Mercedes Citaro 0530N/Mercedes Citaro 5330 (BJ10 VUP) has arrived at Saltmeadows Road for its freshen up repaint.

Slightly less interesting but also worth noting is that Volvo B7TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 3963 (NK06 JXD) and Volvo B10BLE/Wright Renown 5161 (T811 CBW) have both had the issue with regards to the route number appearing on the wrong side of the screen fixed.

The three Streetlites pictured in the link cbma06 posted earlier arrived later in the day after 5391 (NK15 EMV) this morning, which is why they were not included in Go North East's fleet news this morning.

The fleet number to registration allocation for these are as follows:
- 5397 (NK15 ENJ)
- 5401 (NK15 ENO)
- 5409 (NK15 ENY)

5397 is green and to be allocated to Stanley Depot. 5401 and 5409 are the two corporate liveried spares - the former will be allocated to Stanley and the latter will be allocated to Chester-le-Street.

Can't wait for these Lime (possible name change!) Streetlites to enter service, I can almost smell the freshness of the new bus smell! Mmmpphhh!

Will have to hurry to get photos of these Lime B10BLEs still in service, I imagine they've got no more than a fortnight to a month left! Feel like I've neglected them photo-wise, may as well try and get as many photos as I can. Wink

I'm going to guess these Streetlites will enter service on a Sunday on the Lime routes? Seeing as many new vehicles seem to do so?

The spare for each depot comes after the branded examples.

5391 - 5394: X66 Blue
5395 - 5400: 8/78 Green Stanley
5401: Spare Red Stanley
5402 - 5408: 8/78 Green Chester
5409: Spare Red Chester

Other than one is at one depot, and one is at the other, is there any reason why the fleet numbers for the spares are separated? Nothing wrong with it like - just curious Smile

I would like something like the Drifter/Coaster writing for the Lime... Main points of their routes is important.

GNE should use the space at the back to advertise the Lime savers (not sure if both day and weekly tickets?),same as the front.

But on a serious note, I am looking forward to seeing these Streetlites enter service. I'm sure Dan and citaro5284 have done a great job on the destination blinds. Wink
