TfL boss apologises for comments.
Can I just say it annoy the living daylights out of me when joe public think TOC's are making stupid excuses for the delays in their service like today's case where the low angled sun was obscuring the drivers mirror/monitor at Lewisham therefore the drivers had to check to make sure everyone is on the train safely and perhaps switch cabs to do this therefore delay the service
Point is, the "low angle sun" is NOT an excuse, its a safety issue and drivers cannot and should not even dare risk try to close the doors if they can't fully see because of the sun, I sometimes wish customers would just have a little bit more common sence on this.
On a local note, expect this to happen on the Metro at Pelaw and Felling as we head nearer the Spring period, it might be annoying to be held up for a little bit but its a totally understandable and good REASON why trains will be delayed and its not as daft as it sounds.

I used the 19:39 Southeastern trains service out of Victoria for Dartford after eating at Browns at Victoria with a class 465. The journey to Dartford I believe is just over an hour and I got off at Kidbrooke next to my Aunty's house which is normal if I decide against Lewisham because I confident I can connect with a 178 bus a few stops to Kidbrooke Park Road/Eltham Road. I went to use the toilet onboard 465196 and the door was locked for the 30 minutes of travelling to Kidbrooke. I did see a key hole and I am wondering if staff would lock a toilet for the duration of a journey, I come to London to see my Aunty 13 times a year and I normally use Southeatern trains but it was unusual as I am pretty sure nobody entered the toilet, any thoughts ?

(06 Apr 2016, 11:22 am)NK53 TKT Southeastern trains are normally driver only operated and there is a lit that says out of order if this is the case

I'm pretty sure staff wouldn't lock a toilet OOU for the sake of some folk wanting to dodge a fare.
No doubt it was actually not working or not in a presentable state (read of that what you will).
