(20 Oct 2021, 9:33 am)peter Thanks for the info Dan! Nice to see those services being retained. Will certainly be interesting to see what happens next year when the DCC contracts are up for tender once again.

42?? Is this the 42 that runs through north tyneside?? I can just about get away with different companies using the same number for different routes but surely GO north east dont have 2 services with the same number??? Even if they are in different parts of the region ( i could of course be completely of track with this having just read the last few posts!)

Would you expect GNE to not bid to operate the 40/41/42 services in Durham purely because they have services with the same number in a completely different part of the north east?

To be fair, GNE having the 42 and 42D at opposite sides of the network is probably less confusing than Arriva and GNE operating X21s in opposite directions from Eldon/Haymarket

(20 Oct 2021, 2:04 pm)NewcastleOne 33 in Newcastle and 33 in Sunderland?
(20 Oct 2021, 2:53 pm)Adrian Is it the 42D or 42?
The update also states the 40A will be replaced by a 41, but the timetable shows a 41D.
I had thought these D suffixes for the Durham Cathedral bus were internal only, so not entirely sure why the timetable section of the website is showing them. It's a bit confusing though!

(20 Oct 2021, 3:09 pm)peter Again the 33 in Newcastle is a Nexus contract so not a service number determined by GNE.I wasn’t saying otherwise
I reckon it will operate as the 42, like you say the cathedral buses don't run with a D-suffix on the destination, although it is shown on the timetable. Same with the Nexus 33 which shows as 33N. Agreed doesn't help confusion when the extra letters are shown on the timetable.

(20 Oct 2021, 3:19 pm)ASX_Terranova The 6 extension is a good idea, might open up new links
(20 Oct 2021, 4:44 pm)peter I wasn't saying you were - just thought I'd clarify after the confusion with regards to the 42 that both examples are the case of there being a commercial and a contracted service

(20 Oct 2021, 5:32 pm)DeltaMan It's not going down to Quaking Houses, which I am sure will be provike an outcry.Shouldn't do as the current 730 which it replaces only serves Quaking Houses on a night* (service 30 serves/terminates there in the daytime) and remains the same with the 6 extention to Lanchester

Noticed on Bustimes.org, that the 327 is also returning to service on the 2nd November 2021.
