From Saturday 3rd June 2017, the operation of "See it, Do it, Sunderland" service 36 will transfer from Deptford Depot to Chester-le-Street. As Chester-le-Street do not have any Mercedes Citaros at the moment; service 36 will instead be allocated Optare Versas in a new blue base livery (albeit with amendments to the branding), which will standardise the vehicle types at each depot.

April 2017 Go North East This vehicle has been treated to a partial repaint into Go North East's new corporate livery. The new livery design is a a lot more eye-catching and features a two-tone base livery, with the traditional key colour of red towards the front of the bus, and non-metallic dark blue towards the back. This example carries the tagline "Our buses run 35 million miles a year - that's like going to the moon and back 72 times"
April 2017 Go North East Photograph by Upcoming service changes in May will see the "Toon Link" brand encompass services 6, X30/X31 and X70/X71 with a mixed allocation of Scania OmniCitys and Scania OmniDekkas. As such; having previously carried a plain red base livery, this vehicle has now been repainted into a plain black base livery. "Toon Link" branding will be applied to the bus nearer to the time of the service changes.
April 2017 Go North East Photograph by Due to a reduction in spare vehicles at Deptford and an upcoming PVR increase at Chester-le-Street on the Ushaw College DU2 service until Easter 2017, Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 4965 (NL52 WVW) transferred from Deptford Depot to Chester-le-Street last September. As 4965 (NL52 WVW) no longer forms part of Chester-le-Street's fleet, this vehicle has instead transferred from Chester-le-Street to Riverside, as the extra vehicle is no longer required on the Ushaw College DU2 service.

April 2017 Go North East Photograph by Following the entry into service of the refurbished Mercedes Citaros on "Wear Xpress" service X5, this vehicle has transferred from Deptford Depot to Chester-le-Street. From Sunday 19th March 2017; Go North East will introduce an improved 30-minute frequency to service 13 on Monday to Saturday daytimes, and it will interwork with services 14 and X25. The revised PVR will be 10, and 8 of the vehicles allocated will be single-deck Scania L94UB/Wright Solar vehicles, which are more reliable and will reduce fuel and maintenance costs.

April 2017 Go North East Photograph by Following the cascade of Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity 5234 (NK56 KHB) to Stanley; this vehicle has transferred from Stanley Depot to Percy Main, to provide a replacement bus for Scania L94UB/Wright Solar 4964 (NL52 WVV), which is to be cascaded into the Driver Training fleet.
April 2017 Go North East Following the cascade of Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity 5254 (NK56 KJA) from Stanley Depot to Percy Main, this vehicle has been withdrawn from service at Percy Main and is currently receiving modifications at Thorntons Brothers, Ashington, ahead of impending cascade to the Driver Training fleet.
