In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the vastly reduced revenue income being generated currently, nine of Go North East's new Wright StreetDecks will be 'diverted' to Oxford Bus Company. In return, Go North East will take seven of Oxford Bus Company's surplus interdeck Volvo B11RT/Plaxton Elitei coaches, for use on services X9 & X10 between Newcastle and Middlesbrough. This will displace the Volvo B5TLs currently allocated to these services to operate service X21 at Chester-le-Street instead, with the aim of improving reliability and fleet standardisation. This vehicle has transferred from Washington Depot to Chester-le-Street, where it should see primary use as a 'bait bus' (allowing Go North East to provide more adequate social distancing measures for its colleagues at Chester-le-Street), and also to provide additional cover for the minibuses services running from the depot, in the event that any of the three allocated are off service.

Washington Depot will no longer receive the brand-new ADL Enviro 400s which were on order for service X1. They will now receive the new Wright StreetDecks instead. As such other repaints will now be prioritised, with the batch of StreetDecks for Washington not expected until September. As such, this vehicle has transferred from Washington to Riverside, in a full service capacity (no longer float/reserve), to replace Volvo B7TL/Plaxton President 6939 (PJ02 RAX) which has been sold.
