Ahead of the "Frequenta" brand being launched on service 63 at Redcar, this vehicle has been repainted into Arriva's corporate livery, minus the cowhorn. It has also been fitted with a 'Next Stop' audio-visual announcement system, as part of the "Frequenta" upgrade
This vehicle has been fitted with a new cant rail design, promoting the places served and frequency of the "Prince Bishops" 20/20A services, as a trial.

There are a number of changes to Go North East's services in the North Tyneside and surrounding areas, from 24th July 2016. Pheonix Coaches has been awarded with the contract to operate the entire Whitley Bay Town Network from both Go North East (W1/W1A and W3) and Arriva (59/359 and W2). This vehicle has been allocated to Slatyford Depot, in a reserve capacity, whilst being prepared for service. It is thought that this vehicle will be trialled on service 100 (Newcastle - Metrocentre), to compare against the Dennis Enviro 300/Alexander Enviro 300 vehicles presently allocated.
