It is believed that Go North East has ordered five new 'Solo SR' vehicles from Optare, to be deployed on Hexham's "Tynedale Links" network of services. As a consequence; some of the Transbus MPD/Transbus Mini Pointer vehicles currently allocated are due to be withdrawn. 555 (NK53 TKT) is one of these vehicles, and it is believed that this vehicle's MOT is due to expire imminently. To support the product launch of the five new buses at Hexham, Optare has therefore supplied Go North East one of its demonstration models, allocated fleet number 9106, which will provide cover for 555 (NK53 TKT) until the arrival of the new 'Solo SR' models.
This vehicle has moved from Redcar to Redcar (Awaiting Disposal), following the entry into service of further second-hand Temsa Avenue vehicles at Redcar Depot.
