This vehicle has moved from Blyth (Under Repair) to Blyth, having returned to service following "MAX" specification repaint and refurbishment at Thornton Brothers, Ashington.
This vehicle has received "Northern" branding, which is the new brand name for services 6 and X70/X71. As part of recent service changes, new service 6 was introduced as a replacement for the northern section of the old "Diamond" 43/44 services, so the name is appropriate for the route as well as commemorating the company's heritage with a fresh modern outlook on the "Northern" name.
Recent service changes have seen the PVR of the "Red Kite" 45/46 services increase by one vehicle, and to allow the "Red Kite" branded allocation to be carry consecutive fleet numbers (5409 - 5418), 5409 (NK15 ENY) was transferred from Chester-le-Street Depot to Stanley and this vehicle was transferred from Stanley Depot to Chester-le-Street in exchange.
Following recent service changes; this vehicle has lost its "The Highwayman" branding, having been repainted into a dark green base livery, subsequently receiving "Green Arrow" branding.
