RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - citaro5284 - 15 Nov 2024 (15 Nov 2024, 12:17 am)ReDemPTiion wrote So some interesting news regarding Stockton depot in the 12-18 months they will have their depot knocked down and rebuilt and by May 2025 they will have a full fleet of brand new electric buses. That should mean their current buses will transfer elsewhere or be withdrawn depending on age. I’m guessing the 262’s will go to Newcastle? I have heard the same that Stockton will be fully electric. Currently, I do not think that franchising is on the cards around there as opposed to Newcastle, so maybe that has a bearing on why Stagecoach have decided to plow their money into Stockton rather than Newcastle RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Storx - 15 Nov 2024 (15 Nov 2024, 7:16 am)citaro5284 wrote I have heard the same that Stockton will be fully electric. Surely it's more that they won ZEBRA funding for Stockton to get the electric buses whereas they have barely got anything in the NECA areas. I don't believe a single electric bus has been bought outright, so far, outside of London. Newcastle has had a lot of investment lately imo, even Slatyford with the massive E200MMC order not that long ago. Now Hartlepool and South Shields are a different ball game. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - F114TML - 15 Nov 2024 Sunderland's last order before this was the gasbuses weren't they? Meanwhile, we've just got yet more 2700s from the darkest depths of god-knows-where, where they seemingly can't afford black paint between the windows. Yet Newcastle, where much of the fleet is 16, 66, 69, 23 and 73-plate MMCs, is the one getting cast offs and no investment. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - citaro5284 - 15 Nov 2024 (15 Nov 2024, 7:47 am)Storx wrote Surely it's more that they won ZEBRA funding for Stockton to get the electric buses whereas they have barely got anything in the NECA areas. I think its strange how originally it was going to be half the depot that was electric, and now the whole depot is going to be electric, so something has changed in their mindset. How many vehicles do Stockton have (or need) when the whole depot is electric, versus how many vehicles they were originally awarded due to the funding does anyone know. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - F114TML - 15 Nov 2024 Not including TeesFlex, Stockton has 70 buses for a PVR of 62. What were stockton awarded? RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Scottish city buses - 15 Nov 2024 36050 in Hartlepool RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - F114TML - 15 Nov 2024 (15 Nov 2024, 10:23 am)Scottish city buses wrote 36050 in Hartlepool Shame. Good little bus that was. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - TransitObserver - 15 Nov 2024 (15 Nov 2024, 7:16 am)citaro5284 wrote I have heard the same that Stockton will be fully electric. Yeah was confirmed by the operations manager at Stockton on the company’s blink app. Didn’t think they were replacing every bus like. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Teessider2014 - 15 Nov 2024 64 electrics coming, 44 funded through zebra 20 through direct stagecoach funding! Planning for a 59PVR with 5 spares. Wonder where the newer fleet will go? RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - TransitObserver - 15 Nov 2024 (15 Nov 2024, 1:57 pm)Michael wrote 5 spares is a risk. The 69 plate 262’s should go to Newcastle to replace some of the older buses at Slatyford if they’ve got any common sense. I really can’t see them sending them somewhere else in the country where the 271/2’s at slatyford are only Euro 5 engined and from my understanding some of the 271’s may head to Hartlepool. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Teessider2014 - 15 Nov 2024 262’s due to leave in February when the first batch enter service. Apparently Inverness’s fleet have had 6 breakdowns since they entered service. February is quite quick for Stockton's to arrive. No doubt, they'll be Yutongs. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Teessider2014 - 15 Nov 2024 (15 Nov 2024, 4:07 pm)Michael wrote February is quite quick for Stockton's to arrive. Yeah all yutongs (15 Nov 2024, 1:57 pm)Michael wrote 5 spares is a risk. And realistically 5 spares is all Stockton has ran with for months, 24121 and 24169 have been off four over a year now RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - F114TML - 15 Nov 2024 (15 Nov 2024, 10:23 am)Scottish city buses wrote 36050 in Hartlepool Appears Sunderland have gained 39708. Wonder if these are the ones which were meant to be going to Slatyford which there's been rumours for awhile now but instead of cancelling the order or having buses sitting around for potentially years they've decided to divert them to Stockton and pay for them instead. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Michael - 15 Nov 2024 (15 Nov 2024, 5:36 pm)F114TML wrote Appears Sunderland have gained 39708. Great...thought we finally gor rid of those.... RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Unber43 - 16 Nov 2024 (15 Nov 2024, 2:51 pm)Teessider2014 wrote 262’s due to leave in February when the first batch enter service. And when did they enter service? Slightly off topic, but if GNE still had their peterlee outstation that would be a good little depot to have E100 Electric Buses most of them finish about 6 apart from the 202/265/208 (at the time) which finished about 8-10pm RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Glen1974 - 16 Nov 2024 It nice sèe new buses come to stagecoach north east for Four ones . RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - stagecoachfan - 16 Nov 2024 (16 Nov 2024, 2:10 am)Unber43 wrote And when did they enter service? Jan/Feb 2023 for the Inverness Yutongs, which are the shorter E10 model. So that would be 6 breakdowns in 21 months, or 1 every 3 and a half months. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Madmackem22 - 16 Nov 2024 (15 Nov 2024, 5:36 pm)F114TML wrote Appears Sunderland have gained 39708. It's just on loan, due to a few breakdowns and shortage RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - missedbus - 16 Nov 2024 (16 Nov 2024, 10:37 am)Madmackem22 wrote It's just on loan, due to a few breakdowns and shortage It's literally just passed me on the 7 in Shields now, so must have been a very short term loan. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Michael - 17 Nov 2024 Anyone know where I can find the latest official fleet cards for Stagecoach North East? Not bustimes etc. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Michael - 18 Nov 2024 Stockton's electric buses arriving from February 2025. From Facebook: TEES VALLEY YOUNGSTERS TO NAME AND DECORATE NEW ELECTRIC BUS FLEET Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen and Stagecoach North East have today launched an exciting new competition for children to name and decorate a new fleet of zero-emission electric buses. Youngsters aged 11 and under to are being called on to submit name suggestions for the fleet and showcase their artistic talents by drawing their own zebra design for each bus. The chosen 64 zebra drawings will be showcased on the new buses, giving young artists the opportunity to see their work travelling throughout the Tees Valley. Winners will also receive a prize package including free bus travel for a month, a goodie bag and framed picture of their winning image. The chosen names will also appear on the buses, allowing the children to leave a lasting mark on this new fleet and be a part of this significant investment towards sustainability. The 64 new buses will arrive from February 2025 and see Stagecoach’s Stockton site become the largest fully electric depot in the North East. The introduction of the new fleet follows the awarding of UK Government funding to Tees Valley Combined Authority and bus operators through the Zero Emission Bus Regional Area (ZEBRA) scheme. Tees Valley Mayor Ben Houchen. “We all know our children have the best ideas when it comes to choosing names and producing fantastic artwork so we want them to take charge on this great, green zero-emission fleet of buses. “We want our youngest residents to play a part in shaping our new fleet. By giving each bus a unique name and decorating them with students' artwork, we’re bringing a sense of local pride and creativity to our bus network. “Not only is this a fun and engaging way to spark creativity, but it also fosters a connection to our local community. I encourage parents, teachers, and schools across the region to get involved and support their students in making their mark on the region’s transportation.” Steve Walker, MD of Stagecoach North East, said: “It’s an exciting time for the business, and the Tees Valley area, to receive such a large-scale investment in the bus infrastructure. “Delivering a fully electric depot, with a fully electric fleet, will not only benefit the bus users of Stockton and the surrounding area, but the wider community. Linking the investment to the community was a must, and we all know that kids have the best ideas, so using the creativity of the young people in the area was a key place to start with our community engagement.” The competition is open to Tees Valley residents aged 11 and under. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, 15th December 2024. For postal entries, submissions should arrive at Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) offices by Friday, 13th December 2024. Each entry should include the child’s name, age, and a contact email address (school email addresses are acceptable). Both a bus name suggestion and zebra drawing are required for a valid entry. All completed entries must to be sent FAO The Bus Team, either via email to buses@teesvalley-ca.gov.uk, or posted directly to TVCA, Teesside International Airport, Teesside Airport Business Suite, Darlington, DL2 1NJ. It's the last hybrid I need to photograph but hasn't been seen since 1st October. Scared it wont come back out lol. It had a failed generator was replaced and sent back out now apparently has a poorly engine, unsure if it will see service again due to its age and the reliability of the hybrids. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - TransitObserver - 19 Nov 2024 (19 Nov 2024, 8:01 am)lewisparker1509 wrote Is this 12080 you're on about or 83? I am assuming you mean 12080 but they're both dead buses haha Yeah 12080 mate, hybrids should have all gone years ago they weren’t as nice as they used to when I last drove them almost 3 years ago so can’t imagine what they’re like now. There is an option to have it on a static Busways logo, which also puts it on the side.
