Stadler trains are generally alright though, unlike cheap as ***** (CAF) trains. The new CAF trains for the DLR are a genuine shambles.

The first attempt to run both Toontours went horrible

6995 manged ONE trip. Well replace it with 6993. NOOOOO cant so that. 6101 is good enough. And then 6993 was put on

How terrible do you have to be at running a bus company it takes 3 buses to run an open topper service

While on the topic. Is Kimmy having words with GNE the fact they are getting "funding of the government" for new state of the sh!t buses that they cant even allocate them anymore. Pathetic

No one can doubt that they've been a workhorse for the region for decades, but people will only judge them by their last experiences in them. For the best part of the last 10 years, they've been problematic and super unreliable, with Metro themselves admitting it's a battle to keep them on the rails. We even lost the peak extras due to Metro not being able to supply enough stock.

On the modern units, my only real issue with them is the lack of overhead grab rails. That's a real design flaw when the units are crowded. Everything else about them is a notable improvement on what we had, including the air conditioning, which I found really effective even during a heatwave. It actually works better than I thought it would do, because unlike say a car on an Azuma, the air conditioning in the 555 cars isn't operating in a sealed environment. Every time those doors open at a station, warm air is coming back in.

You may think 'teething issues' is people sucking up to Metro, but anyone who has worked within any kind of systems, development or infrastructure role knows that it's often part and parcel to getting the service right.

The new Metrocars are lovely to ride on and I haven’t had a bad run yet. The only gripe I have is the narrow seats and that they are all facing inwards, but it is a small gripe. 
As for the builder, I was delighted when Stadler were announced as the winners. I have travelled over the years in Switzerland and presently a lot of the trains there are built by Stadler and they are superb - double deckers, single deckers, Inter City, high speed and local trains plus trams, narrow gauge and normal gauge. Any teething problems here I would presume would be the extra design features by Nexus.
