Most seem to disagree with you on that based off comments I've seen over time, although I'm not one of them, if anything, I think this livery actually is one of the better applied to the type, although probs helps it's not all-over green like First have in Bristol or Newport Bus with random bits of black including the front panel. Admittedly there's better looking buses out there, but it could've looked worse.
Ah. Earlier trip.
I went to Hartlepool on it on the 1300 from Middlesbrough.
Got a few decent shots of it at the marina and came back on the next one.
According to the fleetnumber on the ticket, it seems to be using the ticket machine from one of Sunderland's sold gas buses, 28035.

Surprised only another 2 27’s 27175, 27176 and 27242 all down in Plymouth I’d imagine all of them will come back up.

thats was the original plan but things fell through and now there receiving 27175 27176 27179 27240 then 4 more yutongs

So it looks like 83000 could be leaving Stockton. The contract for the college requires a decker with a capacity of 72 it has a capacity of 68. It’s not allowed to do it. A driver has said that they’re not allowed to use it. Not sure if it’ll see service again.

I respect that a contract is a contract but surely the college could allow some leniency here, they're getting a brand new electric bus which has 4 seats less that the contract, it's not like they're trying to run it with a midibus with a stupid number of standees allowed (ie. what Gateshead Taxis do).

Depends on if they can keep it or not. No point in putting miles on it if they’re going to send it elsewhere. Should keep it in the north east and give it to Sunderland or Slatyford if they don’t keep it.

Might be the case of that’s how many students are using it and the driver can’t go above capacity due to the restrictions. Hopefully they can find a solution but 80000 seems to do it fine to they might just keep that

It’s a Durham County Council contract to a secondary school that is the issue - would appear nobody checked the capacity with the contract spec! Contract spec is 72 seats as the council require every child to have a seat.

Yeah that's fair then, makes more sense then I guess. The 72 is a high number mind, sure quite a few of the electric deckers are around that number or close to it either way. Assume its due to space took up by batteries.

It would be good to keep both deckers but at the moment if they having to make a choice it will likely be the brand new Yutong 83000 that will be leaving as the priority will be having a bus that is suitable for the contract so 8000 seems the most likely to be staying. If they wanted to deckers that’s capable of doing the contract then it looks like 83000 might have to be swapped with another electric decker from elsewhere. This really should have been checked when doing the order though.
Saying that though Hartlepool seems to have got away with using darts and E200s on the UTC when I thought that was meant to be a decker as well so god knows what will happen here. If some of the enviro 300s are going to be spare soon with more yutongs arriving at Sunderland and Newcastle then hopefully Hartlepool can get them to improve the fleet here, the current fleet is still struggling on E200s quite a few of the 360 and 364s are not exactly sounding to healthy.

It's the Sedgefield Community College contract 5197 from Wynyard which has the decker requirement, the UTC services can all run with single deckers (80000 appears on Mon/Tue/Wed afternoons however due to interworking with the 5197)

Interestingly 27723 has transferred to Slatyford to be used on the 6/7 only as it’s being fined £50 to enter the city unlike 27724-27738. I wonder why it’s took them so long to notice that and why it’s not Euro 6 like the rest? Swapped with 10485. Unsure what will happen in the long run.

Maybe it's just an issue that has happened recently as both Arriva and Go North East have also had these exact issues this month.
Arriva Blyth have moved 7502, 7506 and 7636 to Ashington due to this problem, and Go North East have a lot of buses affected too, mainly some of the Tyne Valley 10 ones, eg 6071, 76, 80
I don't know why all of this has come to light this month, but it seems a general issue, not just stagecoach.

Presumably these were covered by an exemption due to new vehicle orders, which haven't quite arrived yet.

Because if it can’t be used for the purpose it was brought for and possibly going to be moved to another depot then it’s pointless using the battery up and putting more mileage on it, so it’s better to keep it parked up in the depot until it’s future is decided

Actually, it'd due to other issues regarding familiarisation issues that means it has to be stood to one side. As yet it may stay, there are ways and means it could remain and still be used - after all, 80000 is possibly required elsewhere (and it's also known to be a pain in the a*** to charge up on the Stockton charging points). I also understand Stockton's management are fighting to get a few more deckers for some of the busier service boards.
