RE: football - MrFozz - 17 Apr 2014 (17 Apr 2014, 8:15 am)Michael wrote we thought that against city but it didn't happen, we were unlucky not to win last night.. was gutted when Mannone let the ball in the net Was gutted for Vito, if it werent for him, they would have been relegated a long time ago, he is player of the season in my eyes... Good keeper too, commands his box well and always seems to be quite vocal...Hopefully they will keep hold of him next season, but, the soober relegation is confirmed the better, the rebuild can start, start to clear up the 'rotten' parts of the club... Saturday, I am gonna predict a 2-1 win for Chelsea in a game what will be hard lines for Sunderland RE: football - Andreos1 - 17 Apr 2014 https://www.youtube.com/embed/b-XNhrN9LEc Someone has just put this onto twitter. Was a cracking game - even though we lost 3-2 on penalties. 3-3 after 90 mins and 6-6 after extra time. Cant find the match data to see the timings of the goals. Was listening to it on my Saisho walkman haha - not sure Alan Robson will have been too happy about Nightowls being delayed! He is a Newcastle fan I think, nice bloke as well, he was good to me when I was at my lowest point about 10 years ago, I have personally known for nearly 20 years, although not seen him for a few years now Re: football - MrFozz - 19 Apr 2014 The same as Wednesday, never expected Sunderland to take Mourinhos undefeated home record... It is now game on for the fight for survival, I still think they are going down though...The other relegation candidates have some hard games coming up, if they beat West Brom, Swansea, Cardiff there is a chance they may get out of relegation...but they need to rely on other teams to beat the relegation candidates RE: football - Michael - 20 Apr 2014 (19 Apr 2014, 6:32 pm)marxistafozzski wrote The same as Wednesday, never expected Sunderland to take Mourinhos undefeated home record... Great win yesterday, Cardiff next, should be a interesting game but known Sunderland we wont turn and up and play rubbish.. Can't forget that the Chelsea staff were a disgrace yesterday during and after the match, Ramires was a disgrace yesterday, he should be banned. Jose Mourinho is nothing but a sore looser... 31 shots with 15 on target Gonna be a interesting finish to the season for Sunderland We have: Sun 27 -12:00 - Home- Cardiff City Sat 03 -15:00 - Away - Manchester United Wed 07 -19:45 - Home- West Brom Sun 11 -15:00 - Home -Swansea City RE: football - MurdnunoC - 20 Apr 2014 I love how Sunderland are paving the way for Liverpool to take the title. A win against Norwich today will put them 5 points above Chelsea and 9 above Man City. Sunderland's achievements this week have played a vital part in the points difference between the top three. I really want Liverpool to win the Premier League now. Re: football - MrFozz - 22 Apr 2014 Thats football unfortunately, they want success yesterday, and the fact they aint qualified for the Champions League and may not even qualify for the Europa League meant the writing was on the wall... I dont want to speculate or look too much into it, but I think the players have had a hand in this, I believe whoever comes in now might take Ryan Giggs as assistant and train him up to be the next manager It was always going to be a hard task for Moyes, following Sir Alex Ferguson would not be easy for anybody, I also think he should have been given more time, SAF went 4 years winning nowt and look what happened there. There is no loyalty to anybody in football today and it has basically become shit at the highest levels... Re: football - MrFozz - 22 Apr 2014 Also I was looking on Skybet at the book they have opened on Moyes next club 20/1 Sunderland, thats worth a pound imo, I can honestly see Poyet going soon, whether it is mutual agreement(sacked) or resignation... Moyes will most likely end up somewhere like Tottenham next season RE: football - Michael - 25 Apr 2014 Sad news tonight from Barcelona FC Former FC Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova has died aged 45 after a long battle with cancer. If we draw, we're in the play-offs. Atmosphere should be fantastic, so if you can, get yourselves down. Sunderland aren't playing until Sunday and Newcastle aren't playing until Monday, so let this be a valid reason to accommodate your Saturday football craving. Kick off is at 5:30pm. There is a large number of people going, so get there as early as possible. The turnstiles open at 3:45pm. Saw something on twitter earlier to say they are opening them half an hour earlier. Have been to the last few home games, but I know on Good Friday a few missed the kick off (and Southport's first goal). Really pleased to see attendances up. Hopefully it will make a difference. Best of luck mate, quite a few permutations for tomorrow... 1 point guarantees it *If you get beat 1-0, you got to hope Grimsby beat Braintree... *If you get beat 1-0 and Braintree win you got to hope it is only 1-0 as your Goal Difference is +20, theres is +18 If you finish on equal points and equal GD, Gateshead takes it on Goals Scored, your currently on 70 goals compared to Braintrees 57... Now, it looks like your Play-Off Opponents will be Cambridge, but beat them tomorrow and if Kidderminster beat Halifax it will be Grimsby...But it looks likely to be... Gateshead v Cambridge Halifax v Grimsby Gateshead v Halifax would be a good final... I cant make tomorrow, when is the play offs, I might try get to the play off home leg if I can... ![]() Pic of the top 8 RE: football - Adam - 25 Apr 2014 (25 Apr 2014, 6:42 pm)marxistafozzski wrote I cant make tomorrow, when is the play offs, I might try get to the play off home leg if I can... The play-offs, providing we get there, are next week. Excellent atmosphere and performance. There seemed to be a bit of trouble on the far side between home and away supporters, but it was quickly stopped. Fingers crossed Gateshead can get through to the final and push for league football! RE: football - MurdnunoC - 26 Apr 2014 I'm so pleased with this result. Will Gateshead be the saviours of North Eastern football this season? #daretodreamGateshead RE: football - Michael - 27 Apr 2014 Come on Gateshead! Was chatting with the eldest about how apart from his team,we have both lost interest in football this season, whether it is Newcastle or games on the telly. However, we both agreed that going to see Gateshead regularly the last month or so has been enjoyable, entertaining and exciting. The atmosphere has improved at each game too. Much better than in previous seasons. You should start watching some Northern League as well mate, it is a good standard... Congrats to Gateshead, I hope they do themselves justice in the playoffs against Grimsby, home advantage in the second leg is a blessing hopefully, pleased to see Crowds are up, and it will only go one way if they win promotion, onwards and upwards... Gary Mills has done what I thought would never be done, get Gateshead to within a whisker of the league, just getting to the playoffs is an achievement, if it dont happen this year, I am confident he will make an assault on the Division next season ![]() #heeddaretodream RE: football - Andreos1 - 27 Apr 2014 (27 Apr 2014, 10:51 am)marxistafozzski wrote You should start watching some Northern League as well mate, it is a good standard... Aye, there are some decent players - some who could/should play at a higher level. Apart from Mickey McKay who was at Hartlepool, there haven't been too many who have made the step up. Used to get to a few games, had a few friends and family members play at that level. Used to compete for Birtley AC, who shared facilities for Birtley Town for a bit too. RE: football - MrFozz - 27 Apr 2014 You find some players will play Northern League because they can earn more at say, Spenny Town Celtic Nation, Shildon or West than somewhere like Hartlepool or York... It is the best league at it's level in the country and imo sits in a false position in the league system, it should be 2 steps higher than it is, which was the plan originally |
