Ah so to put it in Scott's words....Arriva have got away with it for years as well, no need to single out GNE or Stagecoach then ![]() RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Adrian - 31 Jan 2015 Of course it's a cheat to get around drivers hours. It may be a perfectly legal loophole, but it's a cheat all the same. ![]() RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Dan - 31 Jan 2015 (31 Jan 2015, 10:11 pm)citaro5284 wrote Ah so to put it in Scott's words....Arriva have got away with it for years as well, no need to single out GNE or Stagecoach then Whey aye - operators do it up and down the country! How long has the X1/X2 (Middlesbrough - Newcastle) been around for? Must be since 2009 at least - so they've done it since then. Have no issues with the legal loophole myself. Driving a round trip on the X9/X10 is no different to driving for three hours on the Q1/Q2, if you ask me. RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Jimmi - 31 Jan 2015 (31 Jan 2015, 10:03 pm)Dan wrote Arriva North East has done it for a good few years now. Moaning about the displays and confusing people, they should see the 21/X21 with buses often displaying just "Peterlee" instead of "Peterlee for Sunderland" was shocked to see an ex demo EcoCity displaying the correct display the other day. Ah the good old days of the Facebook page when it had the "Arriva Bod" manning the page and had some good discussion before Facebook removed the discussions section of the site and the bod disappeared. Aye....'Arriva Bod' works for GNE now ![]() RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - tyresmoke - 31 Jan 2015 What I meant was using the same service number for all parts of a service, like the 685 by Stagecoach or the X7 as a GNE example. Arriva have split service numbers for the last few years RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - Dan - 31 Jan 2015 (31 Jan 2015, 10:39 pm)tyresmoke wrote What I meant was using the same service number for all parts of a service, like the 685 by Stagecoach or the X7 as a GNE example. The change in route number adds unnecessary confusion, if anything. The change in route number adds unnecessary confusion, if anything. I suspect that they were uncertain of the legality, and wanted to stress the difference - which, of course, confuses the passengers. Another thing that confuses is that Stagecoach break the 685 at Brampton whist Arriva do it at Haydon Bridge. Don't Stagecoach also split the 685 at Hexham. Yeah, the Stagecoach 685 is split at Hexham and Brampton. It could be to do with the journey, or journeys (I'm not sure?), which operate via Gilsland and the villages? I suppose the diversion could add distance to the route that the Arriva 685 doesn't operate down? Believe it'll be split 4 vehicles from each Blyth and Jesmond, interworking the 306/308 on a Sunday daytime. The extra Jesmond one should drop out later in the day (when I assume they'll stop interworking) RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - omnicity4659 - 05 Feb 2015 New X21/22 timetable available online, will keep an eye out for printed ones. I'm far from convinced it needs serving (most people get on/off at Brambles Farm end anyway!) but hey oh that's just my opinion. Think they mean increasing the combined Sunday PVR by 1 vehicle...? I'm just a little confused why they've gone for the split allocation between depots - couldn't all of the workings been based out of Jesmond or Blyth instead of both combined? Probably better to go for the latter, provide the extra capacity which I think DaveyBowyer said is needed and have 2 spares. RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - RobinHood - 06 Feb 2015 (06 Feb 2015, 5:41 pm)Dan wrote Think they mean increasing the combined Sunday PVR by 1 vehicle...? Its probably split to avoid a huge amount of Sunday work in one depot, which would be disproportionate to the rota. RE: Arriva North East: Upcoming Service Changes - tyresmoke - 06 Feb 2015 (06 Feb 2015, 5:37 pm)Cock Robin wrote Why replace the 27?! Too much wasted resource to operate what is effectively a dupe of the 27A. 27A every 10 mins would be far better received. |
