New service X11 - Dan - 02 May 2021 (01 May 2021, 10:57 pm)streetdeckfan wrote So really nowt's changed? All they've done is put the coach in front of the StreetDeck and called it an upgrade. God, such cynicism. I thought we’d got over that in this thread. Yes, something has changed. The coach is now the preferred output meaning that most passengers now benefit from a toilet on-board and better comfort: yes this comes at the detriment of the X9/X10 but 7156 has now entered service and Riverside still retain two Levantes as spares, so a coach should still be allocated, just of a slightly lesser specification (no next stop AV). Beyond this weekend, it’s unlikely that a duplicate will be required in my opinion. There’s been an initial burst of people wishing to use the service, including a small number of enthusiasts, and now the novelty is beginning to wear off, I think we’ll now settle down into more normal passenger number levels, which is effectively a full (in social distancing terms) coach. Tbf the coach is an upgrade as it has the extra capacity, nicer seats and a toilet and not to mention luggage space so people can bring more with them. RE: New service X11 - streetdeckfan - 02 May 2021 (02 May 2021, 5:04 am)Dan wrote God, such cynicism. I thought we’d got over that in this thread. Me, cynical, I've never heard such nonsense! I'm honestly surprised passenger numbers are still high enough to warrant a duplicate, I thought the novelty would have already worn off. Now, the big question is at what point do passenger numbers stabilise. If they were to stabilise at what is now considered a 'full' coach, would that be enough to call it a success in 'normal' times? Plus, realistically this summer is going to be unique given that foreign travel is going to be fairly minimal, so even assuming things are basically back to normal next year, there's no guarantee that people will want to sit three hours on a coach to get to a mediocre beach (in my opinion) when they can spend the same amount of time on a plane (and probably money if they go Ryanair!) and be in Spain! RE: New service X11 - JP6004 - 17 May 2021 Has 7157 got a loo? If so could this be used on X11 instead of taking coach from X9/X10 RE: New service X11 - Micheal Aaron - 17 May 2021 (17 May 2021, 9:59 am)JP6004 wrote Has 7157 got a loo? If so could this be used on X11 instead of taking coach from X9/X10Tbh using one of the X Lines X9 coach's is better. Reason being it is more comfortable, has charging ports and WiFi RE: New service X11 - Rapidsnap - 17 May 2021 We don't know what spec 7157 is, although it does seem to have gone all quiet regarding that vehicle. RE: New service X11 - GNE6312 - 17 May 2021 A elite I would be better used than 7157 as 7157 has less seats than an elite I as B9Rs are normally 48 or 49 seater so that will be 7157s capacity which is substantially less than an interdeck. Bad enough the Elite's being missing from the X9/X10 on a Saturday but is this likely to still be the case come the end of the month when X11 becomes daily? 7128 would possibly be another suitable option for the X11? But 7157 isn't PSVAR complaint is it? So therefore couldn't be used on any of GNE's services anyway? Also what will be required back on the NX contracts when they return next month? (18 May 2021, 3:57 pm)streetdeckfan wrote But 7157 isn't PSVAR complaint is it? So therefore couldn't be used on any of GNE's services anyway? Could easily be done I'm sure, would make a good spare for the X9/X10 alongside 7128/11 so the X9/10 can be fully coach no matter what. I meant to type is 7157 wheelchair accessible RE: New service X11 - Michael - 29 May 2021 X11 goes daily from this week, as it enters the summer season. Only 12 seats left according to bustimes.org, and its only at Heworth with 7156 allocated... dupe needed soon? Edit: Service X11⚠️ We are aware that service X11 has left passengers at Washington Galleries, don't worry, there is an extra bus on its way to pick you up which should arrive in approximately 20 minutes. RE: New service X11 - Micheal Aaron - 29 May 2021 (29 May 2021, 8:10 am)Michael wrote X11 goes daily from this week, as it enters the summer season.Yea another X9/X10 coach picked them up. 7154 has 34 seats available after leaving Washington. Jesus this is the fullest (if that's even a word) I've seen them both RE: New service X11 - Ambassador - 29 May 2021 Glorious weather, bank holiday, lockdown easing. I’d have been worried if it wasn’t busy! RE: New service X11 - Adrian - 29 May 2021 (29 May 2021, 3:42 pm)Ambassador wrote Glorious weather, bank holiday, lockdown easing. I’d have been worried if it wasn’t busy! Absolutely, but good to see there's a plan in place if the one bus a day is full. I don't know many operators that would send out a second coach, and do it so quickly at that. RE: New service X11 - OrangeArrow49 - 29 May 2021 I think special bus/coach services for the summer are truly a good idea. X11 and X75, Toon Tour and Beamish Express B1, all good. Hopefully more in the future! How do they obtain the live information on the tracking page which shows how many seats are available on a bus at a particular time? It's part of the Open Bus API, only some bus companies show it and it's fed from the ticket machines. There's all sorts of data you can publish with vehicle activity, but sadly most operators don't at the minute Plenty of information here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/technical-guidance-publishing-location-data-using-the-bus-open-data-service-siri-vm/technical-guidance-siri-vm RE: New service X11 - Micheal Aaron - 05 Jun 2021 X11 required another duplicate today. Seems its busy more on the weekend. Wondering what this will say for the summer holidays RE: New service X11 - PH - BQA - 05 Jun 2021 (05 Jun 2021, 9:12 am)Adrian wrote There's all sorts of data you can publish with vehicle activity, but sadly most operators don't at the minute Data including driver duty numbers, for example, which popped up for a number of operators on Bustimes a couple of weeks ago. All for improving data to the public, but there needs to be better control on what gets let out. New service X11 - streetdeckfan - 10 Jun 2021 Big oof I guess this is what we've all been waiting for! How are they getting back, are they using an EY vehicle? Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk RE: New service X11 - Rapidsnap - 10 Jun 2021 Well GNE are going to be trying out what happens with a breakdown in Scarborough as it seems the short run to and from Whitby isn't running due to vehicle breakdown. New service X11 - atlantean560 - 10 Jun 2021 Unless of course EYorkshire mechanics can complete a repair before the return journey, if they cant going to be interesting to see what they send in place of the levante. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk RE: New service X11 - Micheal Aaron - 10 Jun 2021 What's strange. It wasn't an X Lines coach as well. Also did it even pick/drop anyone off in Whitby or Scarborough as bus org shows it not serving Whitby Coach stand or Scarborough rail station Possible just stopped tracking or something else RE: New service X11 - Rapidsnap - 10 Jun 2021 Prob did serve it, just that sometimes the trackers can have a bit of a blank moment and lose track of the bus. New service X11 - atlantean560 - 10 Jun 2021 Looks like 7130 has been fixed and is showing for the return journey on X11 according to bus times Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk RE: New service X11 - streetdeckfan - 10 Jun 2021 (10 Jun 2021, 4:41 pm)atlantean560 wrote Looks like 7130 has been fixed and is showing for the return journey on X11 according to bus times They could have just swapped the machine over into one of EY's coaches as presumably EY won't have the route or tickets programmed |
