All 10 should be in service by the end of January and the Twitter team did confirm that they would start to enter service next week. They will also have set running boards and these journeys will be marked on the new timetable. And as a result of the 10 B5TLs entering service, B9TL 411-7/9/20 will return to Volvo off lease (418 of course departed some time ago after being involved in a RTC), in a late change of plan - they were originally heading for Keighley, likely to replace the Presidents on the 760. There are, however, rumours that further B5TLs are to be ordered for Coastliner for 2017 to replace the remaining B9TLs - could possibly be delaying a possible upgrade of the 760 to use the newer B9TLs rather than the 8 and a half years old batch. Yes i've read that too. Better to have a consistent spec on the Coastliner service, something that would be welcomed by up here on the Red Kite services. It also seems there's to be further changes to the cascading - management are reportedly looking to move 27 of the 80 vehicle allocation to Doncaster due to the (increasingly likely) chance of staff shortages if the majority of those jobs move to Olive Grove depot. More details are now coming out: Doncaster depot will regain operation of 6 boards on the X78 (Sheffield-Rotherham-Doncaster) from 2nd January. The amount and type of vehicle moving from Rotherham is not yet know As part of changes in Rotherham in late January, a number of Rotherham town services will be returning to their original PTE-era service numbers ahead of the depot closure and operation passing to Olive Grove depot (as there will not be a dedicated fleet for the Rotherham services upon operation passing to Olive Grove). Somewhat ironically, 37231 was originally new to Doncaster depot. Dennis Tridents 33061-4 (LN51 GKU/V/X/Y) have been withdrawn from Doncaster and were originally due to transfer to the Cymru fleet - however, it appears 33064 have arrived there and is too tall for its new home depot. It's nice to see a long term strategy being produced, and it'll be interesting to see what it means for Harrogate. I am curious to see what they actually share that isn't commercially sensitive. Enough to engage customers, but not enough to give competitors a massive heads-up. RE: Yorkshire Bus Operations - Adrian - 16 Jan 2017 (16 Jan 2017, 1:44 pm)Andreos1 wrote Interesting. Me too. I hope it offers not only stability for customers, but an actual plan in place to increase patronage. I think their customer engagement is already right up there, and this is just another example of it, in my opinion! I quite like what Transdev are doing with their networks. I've been over to Harrogate twice now for buses, and I've found it to be impressive. I plan to have another trip down when it's a bit warmer, and actually ride round on some of their local services. What they've done with the 36 is equally as impressive. I've done Harrogate to Leeds twice on it now, and the quality of service is really second to none. I plan to try their new Coastliner offering in the coming months too. RE: Yorkshire Bus Operations - Andreos1 - 16 Jan 2017 (16 Jan 2017, 6:45 pm)Adrian wrote Me too. There's a bit of variety too. Cracking fish and chip shop more or less across the road from the bus station too.
