RE: Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - March 2015 - PH - BQA - 29 Mar 2015 4659 was sitting in Ashington depot when I passed, wonder what operated the 418's today, unless they took it off when it turned into a X18? If I saw this before, I would have asked the supervisor before I jumped on the X21. I'd assume 4653 or a MPD. Why are they using two such different buses for the park and ride? One minibus and one double decker ..?! There are now two services - the Solo(s) operating the same route as last year and the Volvo B7 running direct from the P&R site to the train station. Last year, the Solos struggled to cope however the route of the 171 wasn't suitable to anything larger hence when the B7TLs and Temsas were used to run duplicates they operated a different route. This year, there are two routes: The P1 is more-or-less the 171 route from the Park & Ride Site to the Bus Station via the West Cliff hotel area but returns to the Park & Ride Site direct. 2828 will be working this service solo (pun intended) until the peak season when 2827 will join it. The P2 is an express service between the site and the Bus Station in both directions. 7489 will be the allocation for this. Yeah, that's the difference between Civic V2 and Civic V3. Not sure what type of seating is on the Volvo B9s, but it's not particularly comfortable as they didn't completely refurbish them with new seats as they should have done (ideally). Aye, was just wondering if they'd completely replaced them, or just re-trimmed, or just added headrests as surely there will be a mismatch in wear if they didn't re-trim the seats? Arriva North East: Latest News & Discussion - March 2015 - Jimmi - 31 Mar 2015 Not sure what the seats are called in the Volvo B9TLs but here is a shot of them. https://flic.kr/p/q4UQ6u I'm not sure on them and I rode one last week and thought there wasn't much leg room. |
