RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - stagecoachfan - 18 Jun 2026 (15 Jun 2026, 9:10 pm)col87 wrote We don’t need anymore knackered buses getting sent here thanks, we need decent ones ( a couple of more deckers wouldn’t harm either). The colours are all wrong, even known the original is better anyway but that's another thread. Thats the correct colours, the flag was updated officially in 2021 but most companies are just getting round to updating it now. Or you could say, most companies have just "woke" up to the updated flag. Would get my coat, but it's too warm ! No arguments about the progress flag. I meant on the photo it's lime green, dark pink, dark blue. Should be yellow, and the trans pink/blue. Unsure whether it's a camera issue though, the other areas are right though. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - toward6931 - 20 Jun 2026 (16 Jun 2026, 6:18 pm)Busesinnewcastle wrote Yes it’s somewhere getting fixed can’t remember what it’s called where it is. But it won’t be re entering service for a long time yet probably thorntons RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Bus Lad Roy - 20 Jun 2026 73093 getting towed by an Alpha truck up Portrack Lane earlier today RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Rapidsnap - 20 Jun 2026 (16 Jun 2026, 6:18 pm)Busesinnewcastle wrote Yes it’s somewhere getting fixed can’t remember what it’s called where it is. It has been upseated and cannot re-enter service until it was been re-certified by the relevant Government Agency - that I understand is set for mid July, allowing it to be ready for use on the 5197 school contract from September. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Glen1974 - 23 Jun 2026 Ok mate RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Margander - 24 Jun 2026 Apologies if the incorrect thread, I no longer live in the area but I was wondering if any of the gas busses still ran or if they have all been retired and the routes gone electric? I recall some were supposed to go down to Reading. RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Youngymmv - 24 Jun 2026 With Hartlepool now expected to go electric next year this leaves South Shields as the only depot without. Does anyone know if there looking at applying for the funding at anytime in future or a case of wait and see with possible Tyne & wear franchising a possibility Kind regards RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - TransitObserver - 25 Jun 2026 (24 Jun 2026, 9:47 pm)Youngymmv wrote With Hartlepool now expected to go electric next year this leaves South Shields as the only depot without. Does anyone know if there looking at applying for the funding at anytime in future or a case of wait and see with possible Tyne & wear franchising a possibility Stagecoach is very unlikely to invest in any fleet within the NECA area (Walkergate, Slatyford, South Shields & Sunderland) until the franchising is sorted or until they at least know where they stand in all of it. Until then all 4 depots will just have to put up with the old poorly maintained buses. It’s interesting that some of Hartlepool fleet once the electrics are ready could end up going back to South Shields and Newcastle. I wouldn’t be surprised if some electric buses currently at Newcastle and Sunderland made up some of the Hartlepool fleet. I am hoping though as unlikely as it might be that some of the order will be double deckers. The rest of the E200’s mainly the 15 plates and 63 plates will probably end up in South Shields and Sunderland the others will probably be scrapped or sent elsewhere. Come to think of it though they will likely keep a few diesels at least initially as back ups and for the 59 as not sure if the electrics would last a full charge going to Durham and back several times a day and the timetable seems to be quite tight as well. Can’t see they wouldn’t be able to handle the 59, but that’s assuming it’s still Stagecoach operated by then. It just got painted recently lol RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - 220631612 - 27 Jun 2026 (26 Jun 2026, 11:30 pm)col87 wrote Come to think of it though they will likely keep a few diesels at least initially as back ups and for the 59 as not sure if the electrics would last a full charge going to Durham and back several times a day and the timetable seems to be quite tight as well. All it takes is a change in running board configurations. Plenty of longer routes are managing fine with electrics up and down the country. Talk about making a mountain out of a mole hill RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - TransitObserver - 29 Jun 2026 Slatyford are really struggling for buses again. Walkergates 10637 and Sunderland’s 27771 have been loaned to Slatyford today. 27771 cannot go into the city so is on the 6/7. 73178 was VOR this morning for a red warning light on the dash, pelican have since came out and sorted it. It got taken off the 62/63 at Walkergate but nothing replaced it over there. Doesn’t look like 73057 is at Slatyford it’s showing as on the E1, E2 and E6 at Sunderland RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Ambassador - 29 Jun 2026 (29 Jun 2026, 1:49 pm)TransitObserver wrote Slatyford are really struggling for buses again. Only 1 of the 22X boards ran this morning, which is happening quite a bit - assuming they are cutting to support the rest of the network RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News - Busesinnewcastle - 29 Jun 2026 (29 Jun 2026, 3:17 pm)TransitObserver wrote 10634 is at Slatyford you’re right.
